DeSales High School Press Release - DeSales Virtual Workshop
|
Recently the Junior and Senior classes at DeSales High School participated in a virtual workshop hosted by DeVry University on the topic Focus on Technology. The 40-minute workshop began with a 15-minute video on various technology careers and areas where jobs will be available in the next 5-10 years. The workshop also included interactive exercises that gave students the opportunity to discover and evaluate key information as they begin to make or confirm decisions about their future. This workshop was designed by DeVry to help students DECIDE on their future by:
1. Defining technology's effects and new advances in technology
2. Evaluating their personalities and interests with a brief questionnaire
3. Considering the big picture by looking at projected job growth, salary rates, and the importance of a college education
4. Investigating what types of schools match student interests
5. Determining how each school adds up to what they are looking for
6. Exploring resources, including websites
