MIDLAKES STUDENT NAMED "STUDENT OF THE YEAR"
|
Congratulations to 12-year-old Andre Pelletreau for being selected Student of the Year 2004 at the IOMASDA Karate Academy! Andre is a 6th grader at Midlakes Middle School in Clifton Springs. Besides studying hard at school and being on the high honor roll this year, Andre has committed 4 years of his time after school and on Saturdays traveling to Newark to attend karate classes at IOMASDA Karate Academy in the Wegman's Plaza where he has just earned the rank of Green Belt.
IOMASDA Karate, its staff and instructors take pride in the academic excellence of their students and selects one student every year to be named Student of the Year. This past year Andre has been involved with is schools Ski and Chess clubs. Andre plays the alto saxophone in both the concert and jazz band and also knows how to play the piano. Andre enjoys camping with his family and trail riding with his father and sister on their family horses. Andre is also a member of Boy Scouts in Clifton Springs Troop 59 and participates in his school's intramural sports.
To earn Martial Arts ranks (belts) takes an enormous amount of self-discipline, focus, commitment, and hard work. Before our students can become great Martial Artists they must take these values and apply it within their lives. Andre has done a great job this past year and continues to be a positive role model for his peers and a responsible member of the community.
