FLCC HOSTS SPRING PREVIEW DAYS FOR AREA HIGH SCHOOL JUNIORS AND SENIORS
CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (Feb. 24, 2005) - High school juniors and seniors can learn more about college life and academic programs of study at Finger Lakes Community College during Spring 2005 Preview Days. The College will offer information about admissions, financial aid, transfer and career programs, and student activities on campus. High school students will have the opportunity to tour the campus and talk informally with professors in their academic fields of interest.
Advance reservations are required and may be made online at www.flcc.edu/admissions/event_signup.asp or by contacting the Admissions Office at (585) 394-FLCC, ext. 7278, one week prior to the program date. Further details about the events will be mailed to all program registrants.
Thursday, March 31 and Tuesday, April 12, 2005, 10:30 a.m.: For students interested in majoring in Accounting, Administrative Assistant, Architectural Design and Drafting, Biotechnology, Business, Hotel and Resort Management, Computers (multiple degree programs), Engineering Science, Environmental Studies, Math, Mechanical Design and Drafting, Natural Resource Conservation, Natural Resource Conservation - Law Enforcement, Ornamental Horticulture, Paralegal, Retail Business Management, Science, and Sports and Tourism Studies.
Tuesday, April 5 and Tuesday, April 26, 2005, 10:30 a.m.: For students interested in majoring in Athletic Training, Chemical Dependency Counseling, Communications, Criminal Justice, Early Childhood, Education(preparation for transfer in education fields), EMT - Paramedic, Fine Arts, Graphic Arts, Humanities, Human Services, Liberal Arts Transfer Degrees, Music, Music Recording Technology, Nursing, Physical Education, Social Science, Theatre Arts, and Therapeutic Massage/Integrated Health Care.
Tuesday, April 26, 2005, 9 a.m.: From 9-10:20 a.m., students who are undecided about their college major can attend a special workshop focused on career exploration and decision making. Then, participants can stay for the 10:30 a.m. Preview Day to further explore the academic opportunities offered by FLCC.

FLCC OFFICE OF COLLEGE RELATIONS WINS AWARDS
CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (Feb. 24, 2005) - Finger Lakes Community College's Office of College Relations recently received five awards in two advertising competitions; the Service Industry Advertising Awards (SIAA) and the Admissions Marketing Report's (AMR) Annual Admissions Advertising Awards.
The second annual SIAA awards competition received more than 1,000 entries this year that were evaluated by a panel of national judges and rated in 10 different categories. The SIAA competition received entries from corporations, colleges, and private institutions from all 50 states and four foreign countries. The Office of College Relations received a gold award in the poster category for the Student Life Seasonal Posters, depicting the FLCC experience throughout the four seasons. The College also won a silver award in the annual report category for the 2003 annual report which highlighted the recent accomplishments and contributions of FLCC staff as well as Foundation news. Additionally, the College received a merit award in the radio advertising, single spot category for the radio advertisement "Sports Business: More Than a Game."
The 20th annual AMR contest recognizes the accomplishments in the field of admissions advertising for colleges and private schools across the country. FLCC received a merit award in the poster category for the Student Life Seasonal Posters and a merit award for the advertising campaign "Sports Business: More Than a Game" consisting of a radio ad, print ad, and postcard in the total advertising campaign category
