Poem of the Week
|
Coming of Spring
By Ralph J. Adams
I saw the sun come up today,
A brilliant cast of color across the snow.
The tree's were crystallized with gems of ice,
A painters picture to behold.
I know we have to face the weather,
The cold dark days with the bright,
But when the sun comes shining through,
It warms our hearts with delight.
I know God makes this contrast,
So we can appreciate and compare.
The warmth of the sun beating down on us,
And the breath of cold fresh air.
But, I do look for the coming of Spring,
When the crocus breaks through the ground,
To burst out with its petals, and say,
That the freshness and beauty of Spring,
Is only a couple of weeks away.
Now I hope that Spring will be coming soon,
And on my knees and heart I pray,
That the Groundhog did not see his shadow,
This February on Groundhogs' day.
