Living Well" Week
|
Cornell University - Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ontario County is joining a national effort to celebrate Extension "Living Well" Week the week of March 13 - 19. The Family and Consumer Sciences educators in Ontario County and throughout the nation will use the week as a springboard to educate citizens about ways to improve the quality of life of adults, youth individuals and families. The emphasis will be on healthy lifestyles, nutrition and food safety, financial management, relationship and parenting skills, and many more aspects of "Living Well."
The national campaign's slogan is "Raising Kids, Eating Right, Spending Smart, Living Well." On February 28, 2005 the United States Senate passed a resolution designating the week of March 13-19 as Extension "Living Well" Week.
The Ontario County Board of Supervisors will issue a proclamation recognizing Extension "Living Well" Week throughout the county. The proclamation is part of a coordinated effort by educators at the National Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences and Extension offices such as Ontario County's to promote optimum health and wellness of families in the U.S. through the "Living Well" campaign.
