CELESTE M. FOREMAN
Seneca Falls-Celeste M. Foreman, 97, passed away Thursday (March 10, 2005) at the Huntington Living Center, Waterloo. Private memorial services will be at the convenience of her family. Contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church of Seneca Falls, 2 Chapel St., Seneca Falls 13148 in memory of Celeste.
Celeste was born May 5, 1907 in Cement, OK, the daughter of David and Lily Fees Ennis. Mrs. Foreman lived in several states and traveled extensively with her husband, Gordon Arthur Foreman.
She is survived by a son, Gordon (Alice) Foreman of Seneca Falls; three grandchildren, Teri Stupp of Seneca Falls, Cheryl (Joseph) Andreas also of Seneca Falls and Jackie (Greg) Powers of Phelps; seven great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband, Gordon Arthur Foreman, in 1963.
Arrangements are under the direction of Sanderson-Moore Funeral Home, 21 State St., Seneca Falls.
HAROLD E. SEMMLER
Newark/Marion - Harold E. Semmler, 86, died Thursday (March 10, 2005) at the DeMay Living Center.
Funeral Services were held Thursday (March 17) at 6:00 p.m. at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 E. Miller St. in Newark. Burial will be in Marion Cemetery.
Mr. Semmler was born April 17, 1918, in Kendall, the son of Charles and Wilhelmina Wagtske Semmler. For 25 years, he owned and operated a fruit and vegetable farm on the Marion Williamson Road in Marion, retiring in 1972. He was a member and past board member of the Wayne County Growers Association. After retirement, he and his wife lived in Sodus Point and Palmetto, Fla., and later moved to Newark. Harold was a member of the United Church in Marion where he had been a deacon. He was a member of the Walworth Masonic Lodge for over 50 years. An avid bowler and golfer, he was a life member of the Sodus Bay Heights Golf Club.
Harold is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ruth of Clifton springs; three sons, Daniel (Jean) of Penfield, John (Shelley) of Ithaca and F. William (Kathy) of Newark; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Eleanor (Donald) Stanton of Lewisburg, Tenn., Arlene Yantz of Middlesex and Leona Beach of Ledyard, Conn.; several nieces and nephews.
Harold was predeceased by a brother, Carl.
STANLEY E. CUMMINGS
Clifton Springs - Stanley E. Cummings, 66, formerly of Main Street, passed away Thursday (March 10, 2005) at the House of John in Clifton Springs.
Friends called on Sunday (March 13) at the Patrick Funeral Home, 26 W. Main St., in Clifton Springs. Funeral Services were Monday (March 14) at the Clifton Springs United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lynn Spence officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Pioneer Cemetery.
Friends may contribute to the House of John, 14 Spring St., Clifton Springs 14432 or to the Noah Project c/o United Methodist Church, 1 E. Main St., Clifton Springs 14432 in Stanley's memory.
Stanley was born Dec. 11, 1938 in Clifton springs, the son of the late Stanley and Lily Mae Cummings and had lived in the area all of his life. He was a retired lift truck operator for Tyco in Canandaigua. Stanley was a member of the Clifton Springs United Methodist Church and the Canandaigua Elks Club. He was an avid bowler, active board member of the Canandaigua Men's Bowling Association and was inducted into the Canandaigua Bowling Hall of Fame in 1996. Stanley was a former member of the Canandaigua Moose Lodge. He loved playing cards, fishing and hunting. Stanley was happiest spending time with his grandchildren, whom he adored. He will be sadly missed by all his friends and family.
Stanley is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Beverly; children, Cheryl (Andrew) Baumgartner of Farmington, Brian Cummings of Canandaigua, Barbara (John) Barkley of Farmington and Eric (Amy) Cummings of Canandaigua; grandchildren, Aaron, Benjamin and Shawn Cummings, Mathew, Emily, Nathan and Megan Baumgartner, Sara and Paige Barkley and Caleb Cummings; brother, William (Kathy) Cummings of Walworth; brother-in-law, David (Barbara) Miles; sisters, Shirley (Harold) Watts of Shortsville, Marion (Joseph) Frankovitch of Florida; sisters-in-law, Shirley Doyle and Elizabeth Randall.
Stanley was predeceased by brothers-in-law, Edwin Miles, Frank Randall and Michael Doyle.
