ONTARIO COUNTY ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT (OCALS) PARTNERS WITH PHELPS AMBULANCE
|
CANANDAIGUA, NY- Ontario County Advanced Life Support (OCALS), a division of Thompson Health, has been contracted to provide Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) staffing at Phelps Ambulance. The EMT will be stationed at Phelps Ambulance Monday through Friday from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. It is becoming difficult for volunteers to cover ambulance calls during the day because most of them are working, so OCALS EMT's provide augment crews during the day and volunteers take over evenings, nights, and weekends.
In addition to an EMT at Phelps Ambulance, OCALS will be providing paramedic intercept services to the Phelps area. A paramedic will be dispatched for life threatening emergencies such as heart attacks, seizures, difficulty breathing and some traffic accidents.
Currently, OCALS provides EMT staffing to Canandaigua Ambulance, Naples Fire Department Ambulance, Middlesex Ambulance, Honeoye Richmond Fire Department Ambulance and Chili Fire Department Ambulance in Monroe County.
