Ontario County 4-H Members Attend Fashion Focus

Over 150 4-H members and leaders from the Finger Lakes Region recently spent a Saturday in school where they learned new project ideas to use in their clubs and for their families. The Fashion Focus program was held on Saturday, March 12 at the Canandaigua Middle School. More than 40 Ontario County 4-H members attended this event and learned how to make items of fiber and fabrics for their homes.
4-H Clubs that were represented were the 4-H Fun Club, Victor Stars and the Moonlight Maniacs all of the Victor area, Shy Smile of Summer from Macedon, Castle Clovers of Seneca Castle, Castle Creek Critters of Geneva, 4-H Friends and the Pulver Family members of Naples, Noah's Ark of Stanley, The Best Buds of Honeoye and the Martin Family of Lima.
Those attending were able to select three projects from 30 different classes to learn a new skill from volunteer instructors. Classes included basket weaving, making a fabric book cover, stenciling and learning to crochet. Volunteering from Ontario County to teach classes were Karen Wilson, Laura Szczypinski, Kim Dunlavey, Carm Farabella and Suzanne Pohorence.
