Stephanie Dewa
CLIFTON SPRINGS/NEWARK - Stephanie Dewa, 83, died Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at Clifton Springs Hospital.
Friends called Thursday, March 31 at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home in Newark. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday, April 1 at St. Michael Church in Newark by the Rev. Peter Clifford. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.
Mrs. Dewa was born Nov. 19, 1921, in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of Stephen and Mary Mierzynski Jaginello. She lived on Woodview Lane in Clifton Springs after moving from Warren, Mich., seven months ago. Stephanie was a communicant of St. Michael's Church in Newark. She attended Mary Grove College in Detroit, and in her younger years was a laboratory technician at Highland Park Hospital in Highland, Michigan.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Alexander, "Al"; two sons, Andrew (Keren) of Plano, Texas; and Paul (Renate) of Newark; and four grandchildren, Theresa, Jerray, Aleksandra and Jacob Dewa.
John D. Fahy
CLIFTON SPRINGS - John D. Fahy, 86, of Webb Avenue, passed away peacefully at home, Friday, March 25, 2005.
Friends called on Monday, March 28 at the Patrick Funeral Home in Clifton Springs. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on Tuesday, March 29 at St. Felix Church in Clifton Springs. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. Agnes Cemetery.

John was born Dec. 31, 1918, the son of the late James and Jane Fahy. He served his country as a captain in the Air Corps during World War II. John was a graduate of the University of Rochester and worked as an English teacher for the East Rochester School District. In 1956 John became the high school principal for Clifton Springs High School. Once they merged in the late '60s with the Phelps School District, John became the first superintendent for Phelps-Clifton Springs School District, retiring n 1973. John was employed as a guidance counselor for DeSales High School and taught at Finger Lakes Community College. He also was Western New York's representative for the School Administrators Association of New York State. John was a member of the Clifton Springs Rotary Club, East Rochester Teachers Association and the U of R. Alumni Association. He was a member of the Clifton Springs Country Club and a very active member of St. Felix Church until his illness. John loved to play tennis and bridge and read books. John was an avid Yankees and Buffalo Bills fan. John was happiest watching sports with his loving son Kevin.
John is survived by his loving wife, Margaret; daughters, Judith (Jeffrey) Crowell of California, Kerry Fahy-Harvick of Rochester; son, J.Kevin (Karen) Fahy of Geneva; grandchildren, Reagan and Kevin Crowell, Jessica Neilsen; step grandchildren, Emily and Ellen Weinberg; brother, James (Lillian) Fahy of Alabama; nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his previous wife, Anne in 1991; sister, Agnes in 1986.
Emma Helena Garvey Gillam
PENN YAN - Emma Helena Garvey Gillam, formerly of Seneca Castle, was released to heaven on Easter Sunday, March 27, 2005.
Friends called Wednesday, March 30 at the Patrick Funeral Home in Clifton Springs. Funeral services were Wednesday, March 30 at the Seneca Castle United Methodist Church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Friends may contribute in Emma's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, Rochester Chapter, 425 E. Henrietta Road, Rochester 14620, or to the Seneca Castle United Methodist Church.
Emma was born Feb. 25, 1916, in Lyons, the daughter of the late George and Augusta Garvey. Emma's childhood years were spent near Newark, and on Tile Yard Road in Clifton Springs. She graduated from Phelps High School in 1934 and on June 4, 1938, married Basil Gillam of Canandaigua. In 1947 the Gillam brothers, Basil and Milo, bought the farm property on Tile Yard Road from Emma's parents. There they raised their families and farmed until 1981. At that time their home near Dresden on Seneca Lake was purchased. Mrs. Gillam was dearly loved for her hospitality and support she gave through constant activities of her family, church and home. A talented lady, Mrs. Gillam especially enjoyed creating shell, dried and floral arrangements as well as sewing, cooking, gardening and reading. She belonged to the Ontario County Home Bureau, the Methodist Women's Society of Christian Service and the Eastern Star. In the late '50s she worked at McCurdy's in Geneva and later attended Freeman's Business School and was employed for a short while at Silver Floss in Phelps. As a long-time member of the Seneca Castle United Methodist Church, she was an active participant in its many activities.
Emma is survived by her daughters, Judith (William) Albro of Washington and Kathleen (Peter) Beinetti of Colorado; son, James (Jane) Gillam of California; grandchildren, Thomas (Tina) Albro, Todd (Deanna) Albro, Stephen Beinetti (Cheryl), Daniel (Marian) Beinetti, Lisa (Ed) Beinetti Durica, Amy (Phil) Gillam Austin, Brad Gillam, Calder and Andrew Gillam; great-grandchildren, Nathaniel, Kelsey and Sarah Albro, Nicole and Luke Albro, Mark Beinetti, Zoe Durica, Zachary Beinetti, Sean and Abbie Austin; several nieces and nephews, especially meaningful to her were, Sue Bender Gillam Bennett of Arizona and Lynne Kostic Gillam of California.
Emma was predeceased by husband of 60 years, Basil in 1999; and her son, John in 1979.
Charles K. Ryan
SENECA FALLS - Charles K. Ryan, 41, of 2 Falls St., Apt. S11, died Friday, March 25, 2005 in Geneva General Hospital.
There were no calling hours. A memorial service was Wednesday, March 30 at the Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo. The Rev. Martha Forisha, rector of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Seneca Falls, officiated. Spring burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Waterloo.

Charles was born April 11, 1963, in Waterloo, the son of Charles E. and Florence P. Ellsworth Ryan. He was a 1982 graduate of Mynderse Academy. He was employed with G.W. Lisk in Clifton Springs, through the Cayuga-Seneca ARC program.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra L. Ryan, whom he married July 26, 1997; one half brother, Vincent Passamonte of Clifton Springs; one half-sister, Audrey Preble of Syracuse; many nieces and nephews.
