Media's content is bothersome with constant, repetitive coverin' o'the same stories on all channels. Channel surfin' don't help since often the same story is on a competin' channel. Even commercials are planned for the same intervals! Movies repeated over an' over, even His'try Channel.
Two best news shows are Lou Dobbs an' Aaron Brown of CNN. Other correspondents have strengths, rudeness an' hollerin' goin' on twixt host an' guest is tiresome. Aaron Brown's compassion shows, especially durin' the Pope's death.
Dobbs zero's in on the problem, hashes it t' death, bringin' on "experts" debatin' his viewpoints. Dobbs' issue is illegal immigrants, an' financial problems forcin' localities havin' t' pay fer their care. Elected officials downplay his efforts, like they don't care. Dobbs won't change much, since words never hurt those in power. Legislators are safe, since political machines, like Karl Rove's management of Bush's travels an' speeches creates a propaganda effect. Only people s'portin' a candidate are allowed entrance, dissent is turned away or arrested. Biggest issue has been the Minuteman project, condemned by our administration, yet reducin' illegals' flow in their area. Media 'n politicians don't like common people's successes, makes 'em look bad (not that they need help!).
Yer assumin' there's favorites here. No, there ain't cause those eatin' high on the hog don't care 'bout commoners. Don't believe common people have favorites, too busy makin' a livin'!. Ever'one has an opine, often opposin' those in power, yet are powerless t' have their voices heard. Media is a repeater of news, not a formulator or able t' voice objections because editorial opines drive newscasts, not reality. Fox is notoriously conservative, second only t' Limbaugh. So-called EIB network is really inflammatory aginst common folks. Liberalism is a dirty word, but liberalism programs are designed to help less fortunate. Even so, liberal problems, like Medicaid, are devoted t' guaranteein' legislator's tenure.
Media doesn't address good things our troops do overseas. Y' might see a local paper tellin' how goods are bein' sent t' our GI's in Iraq. Media doesn't note our nation's street warfare casualties are higher than combat ones. Many cities are "occupied" by gangs exertin' their brand of discipline. Iraq cities have the same problem! Police are driven from gang areas for fear o' their life, even as innocents are bein' killed. Where's Media? Lookin' fer "safe" stories.
Wonder how much good our troops are doin' in the Middle East fer common Iraqis. Are kids bein' fed, schools bein' built, streets becomin' safer? How many people'd care t' write letters tellin' what they did durin' the war t' help people, kids in particular. Be willin' t' compile it fer readers, an' write 'bout it in a coupla months. For it's m' contention GI's will feed enemy's children, although they'll be condemned fer the war. Bulldozers better'n bullets. Let's see the response. Won't hold m' breath, though. "Nuff sed!
