PHIL LOSSIFER

Andrew Card, Bush's boss along with Carl Rove, was makin' talk show rounds on 5/1. Saw an interview on Meet The Press, an' if one din't know better, one would draw the conclusion that Russert was scared of askin' pointed questions. Card had been interviewed earlier by Blintzer, lo an' behold, same words, like a rote-learned poem Card repeated on Russert's show. Both interviews appeared structured as to questions asked an' what Card's answers would be. Could I be wrong? Card's words and comments parroted administration officials party line. No follow-up, no cross examination. Bluntly, in m' opine, Russert caved! Could it be our Media have become afraid of Republican party legislator? Includin' DeLay? He'll survive, makin' Demmycrats vote like he wants, or they'll be defeated next election.
Social Security reform finds ever'one's a loser, benefits reduction is a given, within coupla years t' finance personal accounts. Who'll get the money? Wall Street corporations, whose contributions finance elections. It'll hurt low income people, wealthy'll have cushion. Stock market's good fer those investin' large sums, but the poor man, like 401(k) fiascos will suffer. Corporate sal'ries, an' golden parachutes are creatin' an elite class o' people. Republicrats'll pertect 'em, but what's new. Those havin' gold make the rules, those makin' the rules get access t' the gold. Then, there's Medicare, another problem.
It's apparent news stories are controlled from beginnin' t' end. The Capital Gang's debatin' societies experts connections have made them wealthy, an' opinionated. Are their opines near the common man's thought? Could they live in upstate New York with its economic problems? Depends, but m'evaluation of news shows declinin' with each interview one sees. While our Media may be free from one sense, the structured questions asked shows manipulation 'crost the board.
New Federal budget cuts welfare, but who's gonna bear the brunt of these cuts? Will courts force state an' local govmints t' pick up the tab? Where will cuts be made? Medical needs for youngsters? Housin'? Congressman Kuhl's blurb sed they'll make changes, but once a law gits in it don't git changed. Medicaid needs reinin' in, 'cordin' t' "Doc Pilltile". Drug costs keep goin' up, people usin' more 'n more expensive medications when cheap ones jes as good. Cuts ain't made where it's needed. There'll be those who'll git 'round the cuts one way or another.
Do y' know our military vehicles still ain't armored up? North Korea has nuclear capability, how long afore they have it mated t' a missile. North Korea's aim is takeover of South Korea. Administration is more concerned 'bout Iran. Doesn't make sense, does it? Media emphasizes only what govmint allows them, structured questions with rote answers. Our free Media has become govmint mouthpieces.
Pataki runnin' fer Pres, or anyone else? Fergit it, wannabees, it's Jeb! Hillary an' Jeb in 2008, Jeb in landslide as Rove/Card machine gits Religious Right inta gear. Never nuff sed, it's there t' see!
