GOVERNOR PATAKI PROCLAIMS MAY 11 AS HEALTH CARE AUXILIAN DAY
|
Clifton Springs, NY- Governor George E. Pataki has proclaimed May 11, 2005 as Health Care Auxilian Day in New York State to recognize the dedicated auxilians who annually donate more than five million hours of service to their health care facilities and to their communities.
Clifton Springs Hospital and Nursing Home recently honored its volunteers and auxilians at the Annual Volunteer Recognition Banquet on April 19, 2005.
In 2004 alone, more than 90 volunteers donated 12,000 hours of service to Clifton Springs Hospital and Nursing Home. In addition, the Clifton Springs Hospital Auxiliary donated more than $27,000 to the hospital in support of needed equipment and programs. The Clifton Springs Hospital Auxiliary also plays an integral role in community events, such as coordinating two blood drives per year and assisting in health fairs, as well as sponsoring several fundraising efforts.
New York State has more than 75,000 health care auxilians who initiate, fund, and volunteer for a wide variety of patient and family care services - from outpatient clinics to intensive care units.
