Donna E. Blankenberg Teeter

      NEWARK - Donna Ellen Teeter, 56, of West Pearl St., died at her home with her loving family by her side Sunday, May 8, 2005.
      All services will be at the convenience of the family.

      Donna was born Nov. 24, 1948, in Newark, the daughter of the late Abram and Florence Blondell Blankenberg. She was a 1966 graduate of Newark High School. She was a member of Park Presbyterian Church in Newark. Donna was employed by Sarah Coventry, the Newark Central Schools in food services and, most recently, Wal-Mart in Newark. She enjoyed traveling and going to casinos, but her biggest joy was her family and especially her grandchildren.
      Donna will be remembered by her loving and devoted husband of 33 years, Ronald D. Teeter; daughter, Marcia (Russ) Munroe of Newark; son, Jeff (Jenny) Teeter of Palmyra; five adored grandchildren; sisters, Shirley (Roger) Westfall of Phelps and Elaine (George) Bush of Honeoye; several nieces and nephews.
      Donna was predeceased by her brother, Bruce Blankenberg.


Stephen H. "Foxy" Bowers

      CLIFTON SPRINGS/NEWARK - Stephen H. "Foxy" Bowers, 71, of 6571 Blue Cut Road, Newark, died Tuesday, May 10, 2005 at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital.
      Friends called Friday, May 13 at the Cheney Funeral Home in Phelps. Funeral services were Saturday, May 14 at the funeral home with the Rev. Thomas Gramley, officiating Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
      Steve was born April 3, 1934, in Boston, Mass., the son of Fredson T. Sr. and Hyacinth Sutphen Hall Bowers. He was a substance abuse counselor and co-owned and operated Carol's coffee and bake shop in Clifton Springs with his wife, Carol.
      He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Carol Bowers of Newark; children, Donald S. Bowers of Florida, Alan A. Bowers of Waltham Mass., Marjorie Tweddie of Waltham, Stephen H. Bowers Jr., Lisa M. Spofford of Naples, Jeffery S. (Carla) Bowers of Vicenza, Italy; and Tracey (Harold Farrell) Barnhart of Cayuga; two brothers, Fredson T. Bowers Jr. of West Newton, Mass.; and Peter D. (Marion) Bowers of Freedom, Maine.
      He was predeceased by his sister, Joan Stout.


Kenneth P. Maslyn

      CLIFTON SPRINGS - Kenneth Maslyn, 73, of Route 96 East, Clifton Springs, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2005 at Clifton Springs Hospital.
      Friends called Tuesday, May 10 and Wed., May 11 at the Patrick Funeral Home in Clifton Springs. Funeral services were Thurs., May 12 at the Clifton Springs United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lynn Spence officiating. Burial followed in Riverview Cemetery.
      Friends may contribute to the Clifton Springs Rotary Club or to the Noah Fund, c/o Clifton Springs United Methodist Church in Ken's memory.
      Ken was born Dec. 31, 1931, in Clifton Springs, the son of the late Elmer and Margaret Maslyn and had lived in Clifton Springs all of his life. He served his country in the Army during the Korean conflict. Ken was employed by Agway as a broker/salesperson for 47 years. After his retirement, Ken was a self-employed dry bean broker for the last 12 years. Ken was a member of the Clifton Springs United Methodist Church where he was a church trustee and very active in the NOAH Fund building committee. He was a member and Paul Harris Fellow of the Clifton Springs Rotary Club. Ken was a member of the Midlakes school board for many years, a founding member of the Hardwood Club and a board member of the Midlakes Hall of Fame. He was a member of the NYS National Dry Bean Board, the Clifton Springs YMCA Board, 4-H and Cub Scouts. Ken volunteered as a greeter at the Clifton Springs Hospital. He enjoyed boating, gardening, watching all of Midlakes sports and Syracuse University basketball. Ken especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and family. He will be sadly missed by all.
      Ken is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Barbara; children, Debbie (Dave) Forshay, David (Lisa) Maslyn, Patty (David) Bump and John (Amy) Maslyn; grandchildren, Kristen, Darren and Stacy Bump, Zachary Maslyn, Ryan Forshay, Margaret and Ethan Maslyn, Sydney Forshay, Coby and Rachel Maslyn; great-grandchild, Jeremy Bump; brother, Elmer (Barbara) Maslyn; sisters, Betty (Elmer) Gordner and Marjorie (Ted) Crosby; sister-in-law, Joanne Maslyn; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
      Ken is predeceased by his parents, Elmer and Margaret; and brother, Joseph.


Clair "Smokey" A. Page

      GORHAM - Clair A. Page, 84, of County Road 17, died Saturday, May 7, 2005 at Clifton Springs Hospital.
      Friends called Tuesday, May 10 at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham. Funeral services were Wed., May 11 at the Reed Corners Federated Church.
      Memorial contributions may be made to the Stanley-Hall-Gorham Ambulance, Box 41, Gorham 14461, the Reed Corners Federated Church, 4030 Route 247, Canandaigua 14424, or to Respite Care, Ontario County Office of Aging, 3060 County Complex Drive, Canandaigua 14424.
      Surviving are one son, Charles (Jeanne) Page of Canandaigua; two daughters, Jeanette (Stephen) Decker of Middlesex and Rita (Scott) Mark of Shortsville; four grandchildren, Monica Page, Benjamin Page, Mark Kransler and Beth Kransler; one brother, John (Eleanor) Page of Clifton Springs; two sisters, Mae Page of Canandaigua and Alma (Alex) Oriole of Herkimer.
      She was predeceased by one sister, Margaret Johnston.


Bruce A. Reed Sr.

      BRANCHPORT/CLIFTON SPRINGS - Bruce Adams Reed, 77, of Branchport, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2005 at the House of John in Clifotn Springs.
      Friends called Sunday, May 15 at the Patrick Funeral Home in Clifton Springs. Funeral services were Monday, May 16 at the funeral home, with burial in Orleans Cemetery.
      Friends my contribute to the House of John in Bruce's memory.
      Bruce was born Jan. 8, 1928, in Geneva, the son of Stewart and Olive Reed. He served his country in the Air Force from 1946 to 1948. Bruce owned and operated his own farm in Clifton Springs from 1948 to 1974. He was an original member of the Orleans Fire Protection District and later a member of the Clifton Springs Fire Department.
      Bruce and his wife, Shirley, lived in Iowa from 1974 to 1991. He was very proud of traveling to every state in the continental United States. Bruce enjoyed riding horses and hunting with his boys. He was happiest spending time with his kids.
      Bruce is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Shirley; seven sons, Bruce Jr. (Vicki) Reed of New York, Daniel (Dianne) Reed of Boyton Beach, Fla.; David (Karen) Reed of Clifotn Springs, Craig (Kristine) Reed of Phelps, Jon (Becky) Reed of Wirtz, Va.; Todd (Jennifer) Reed of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and Jason Reed of Chandler, Ariz.; two daughters, Linda (Doug) Fagner of Newark and Julie (Ron) Lawhorne of Lamar, Mo.; 19 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
      Bruce was predeceased by his son, Kelly and his parents Stewart and Olive.


Alice M. Sharpe

      COLUMBUS, Ind./CLIFTON SPRINGS - Alice Sharpe, 90, formerly of Clifton Springs, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2005 in Indiana.
      Friends called Saturday, May 14 at the Spa Apartments Chapel in Clifton Springs, where funeral services followed. Burial will be in the Clifton Springs Cemetery.
      Alice was born Sept. 17, 1914, in Clifton Springs, the daughter of Auguste and Lena Miller. She was a registered nurse and lived her whole life in Clifton Springs until the passing of her husband of 58 years, Wallace "Bud" Sharpe, when she moved to Columbus to be with her family.
      Alice is survived by her son, Ted Sharpe of Columbus, Ind.; three grandchildren, Amy Kuehn, Kristen Sharpe and Emily Sharpe; and two great-grandchildren.
      She was predeceased by her sister, Grace; and a half-brother, Foster Whipple.


Clarence L. Veeder

      CLIFTON SPRINGS - Clarence L. Veeder, 95, formerly of Clifton Springs and most recently living at the Newark Manor Nursing Home in Newark, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2005.
      Family and friends called Wed., May 11 at the Cheney Funeral Home in Phelps. Funeral services were Thursday, May 12 at the funeral home with the Rev. Lynn Spence officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Clifton Springs.
      Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
      Clarence was born Feb. 20, 1910, in Phelps, the son of Walter and Anna Salisbury Veeder. He was employed at Sylvania in Seneca Falls and Kodak in Rochester until his retirement in 1975. After his retirement he worked at Ontario National Bank and also for the state's Green Thumb Beautification Program. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Clifton Springs.
      He is survived by two sons, Robert (Monica) Veeder of Beverly Hills, Fla., and Gary (Lorraine) Veeder of Waterloo; two daughters, Bonnie Thomas of McDougall and Kathy Cowan of Redmond, Wash.; daughter-in-law, Joyce Veeder of Waterloo; three stepsons, Gary (Sandy) Nieskes of Englewood, Fla., David (Linda) Nieskes, Ronald (Dawn) Nieskes, both of Phelps; two stepdaughters, Gail (Jim) Sadler of Clifton Springs and Ann Albrecht of Kingman, Ariz.; sister, Edith VanCamp of Phelps; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
      He was predeceased by his wife of 35 years, Leona Croll Veeder and son, John Veeder, both in 1999.
