CLIFTON SPRINGS AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ANNUAL BANQUET AND FOUNDERS AWARD PRESENTATION

Founders award Recipient Andy Reinhardt and
Chamber President Mike Ford

The Clifton Springs Area Chamber of Commerce each year considers bestowing its highest honor, the Founder's Award, upon a deserving contributor to the Clifton Springs community. It is my honor to tonight present the award to a friend who has given unselfishly to this community.

This year's recipient was born in Lyons, New York on March 25th, 1960. He graduated in 1978 with a Regents diploma from Newark High School and was honored with membership to the Distinguished High School Students of America.

He then pursued studies at the Community College of the Finger Lakes with a major in Criminal Justice and a minor in industrial security. In 1981, he began a fifteen year career with Wegmans Food Markets, eventually working as a department manager and assisting the company in its growth by overseeing grand openings and new store set-ups.

In 1996 he chose to enter the field of home improvement retail working for Grossman's lumber and subsequent Hep Sales. He eventually accepted the position of manager of the Clifton Springs Hardware store, where he remained for four years.

He currently works for the Hillman Group as a Territory Manager. In this role, he maintains relationships with 150 independent hardware stores who carry the Hillman line of fasteners and hardware supplies.

During his time working at the Clifton Springs Hardware store, this year's recipient, joined the board of directors of the Clifton Springs Area Chamber of Commerce, and quickly assumed the role of president. Under his leadership, the Chamber grew and assumed more visible role in the community. He helped create the current Business of the Month program to recognize area businesses, served as the liaison the Sulpher Springs Committee, revived the community wide garage sale, created the Chamber's website, as well as a host of other accomplishments.

Our recipient is also a member of the Village of Clifton Springs Planning Board, the Clifton Springs Rotary Club, and head instructor in Tae Kwon Do.

He is an avid snowmobiler, who enjoys motorcycling, detailing cars, and camping, as well as his spending time with his wife and two children.

It is my distinct honor and privilege to present this year's Founder's Award to Mr. Andy Reinhardt.

FOUNDER'S AWARD
From Bob Bowdren
As the first recipient of this award, I am very sorry that I am not able to attend this banquet and award ceremony. I have asked President Mike Ford to read my remarks for me.
The person receiving this year's award has done as much as, if not more than, any other individual for the good of our Chamber. When he first accepted the presidency, the Chamber was in a "no growth" or "status quo" mode.
During his administration, the Chamber was held to the highest ethical standard and professionalism. He continued to accept re-election to the presidency until he felt he could turn the job over to others and know it was growing once again. In so doing, he racked up more years in the President's chair than anyone else (except yours truly). I am proud to have this person as one of my very good friends and am most pleased to see him get this award.
For those who do not yet know who this year's recipient is, I will leave that for President Mike Ford to announce. Thank you.
