Ontario County 4-H in Regional Horse Events
|
Ontario County 4-H Animal Science members have done well at recent regional events. The Horse Communications event was held in Canandaigua. In the Senior Individual division, Grace Seely of Stanley placed 1st and Carol Loan of Penn Yan placed 6th. Madison Mugnola and Leah Kibler of Canandaigua placed 2nd in Horse Communications with their team presentation in the Junior Division. Annie Portland of Victor placed 5th and Laura D'Amico of Clifton Springs placed 8th in Individual Presentations also in the Junior Division.
The Senior Communications Team of Kendra Trammel of Geneva and Kim Bennett of Clifton Springs placed 1st in Team Presentations. All of these will represent Ontario County at State Competition at Cornell.
At the Horse Extravaganza held in Penn Yan, Molly Lipp of Prattsburgh, placed 1st and Kathryn Lawson of Seneca Castle placed 2nd in the Hippology contest for novice individuals. Laura D'Amico of Clifton Springs was 7th while TJ Wissick of Stanley placed 19th. As a team, Ontario County placed first in the Novice division.
Junior Hippology participants were Jessie Evans of Canandaigua and Ben Phillips of Rushville who placed in the top 20. In Senior Hippology, Grace Seely placed 9th. As a team the Juniors placed 4th in Horse Hippology.
In Horse Bowl, the Ontario County Novice Team was 1st with Molly Lipp taking first individual, Kathryn Lawson 5th and Laura D'Amico placing 15th.
The Novice Horse Bowl team placed 1st in team placings.
Juniors placing also were Amanda Coney of Victor and Ben Phillips. Hannah Coney of Victor and Hannah Wilber of Geneva also participated on the Senior Horse Bowl team for Ontario County. In combined teams with other counties, the Senior Horse Bowl team was 10th and the Junior Team placed 6th.
