Your Tax Dollars Hard at Work??

A friend of mine (who shall remain nameless for now) has been trying to get my attention on this matter for some time. After examining the numbers a little closer, it HAS my attention.
It appears that the Geneva office of the DMV/Social Services (operated by Ontario County) is operating on rental property. Starting in 1995, it was leased by the County for $12,300 per month, plus utilities, for 5 years. These numbers were supplied by a Supervisor (also unnamed for now). Additional numbers (to follow) were also supplied. In 2000 the lease was renewed for another 5 years. The total at the expiration of the lease, will be well over a million dollars and the county has built no equity in the premises.
I have no doubt that there is desirable property in our Town of Geneva for less than 1/10th the amount the county is now paying.
Final question(s): Will the County renew this 5-year lease again? Is this pork barrel? Who owns this "wonderful" property? We know the answer to all of these questions. Let's see if we get responses on this one.
