Charlotte A. Sanford

      CLIFTON SPRINGS - Charlotte A. Sanford, 62, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2005 at the House of John in Clifton Springs surrounded by her loving family.
      Friends called Friday, June 24 at the Patrick Funeral Home in Clifton Springs. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered Saturday, June 25, 2005 at St. Felix Church in Clifton Springs. Burial will be in East Newark Cemetery.
      Friends may contribute to the House of John or to Clifton Springs Community Cancer Center in Charlotte's memory.
      Charlotte was born Jan. 26, 1943 in Clifton Springs, the daughter of the late Peter and Mildred Price and had lived in the area all of her life. She was employed as a quality control inspector for UltraLife Batteries Inc., and prior to that Charlotte was a waitress at the Town Pump Restaurant. She was a member of the Humane Society, the Arthritis Foundation, ASPCA, Northshore Ambulance League and the Joyce Meyers Ministry.
      Charlotte absolutely loved animals, especially her cats - Oranges, Tiger, Smokey, Oreo and Checkers. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, whom she adored. Charlotte was a very dedicated and hardworking woman, who loved her job and the people she worked with. She will be sadly missed by all her loving friends and family.
      She is survived by her daughters, Theresa "Terry" (Ronald Bently) Black of Gasport, Tracy (John Brice) Sanford of Clifton Springs, Tricia (Richard) VanSlyke of Syracuse; their father, Lawrence C. Sanford of Clifton Springs; grandchildren, Kalila and Krystal Black, Khadijah Sanford, Johnathan Bice, Joseph and Alexandra VanSlyke; brother; Tom (June) Price of Newark; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.


Clarence E. Schutt


      NEWARK - Clarence E. Schutt, entered into rest Sunday, June 26, 2005 in his 88th year.
      At his request, there will be no calling hours. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family with interment in Marion cemetery.
      Clarence was a World War II veteran and a retiree of Sarah Coventry of Newark.
      He is survived by his son, Richard (Elaine) Schutt of Phelps; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
      Arrangements are by the Young Funeral Home in Williamson.


Edith M. Woodard Kelsey

      CLIFTON SPRINGS - Edith M. Woodard Kelsey, 84, of Spa Apartments died Sunday, June 26, 2005 in Clifton Springs Hospital.
      There were no prior calling hours. A memorial service was Thursday, June 30 at the Clifton Springs United Methodist Church. The Rev. Lynn Spence, pastor, officiated. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Waterloo at the convenience of the family.
      Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to Clifton Springs United Methodist Church, Clifton Springs Fire Department or to the Potter Baptist Church Memory Garden.
      Mrs. Kelsey was born in Moravia, May 10, 1921, the daughter of Gilbert George and Elizabeth Janet Thomas Woodard. She had been employed at the Seneca Army Depot and Patent Cereal in Geneva. She was involved with the Grandparent Program at West Street School and was a member of the Clifton Springs United Methodist Church.
      She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis (Paul) Granger; her son, Lawrence Kelsey; five grandchildren, Sherry Kelsey, Tammy Wilson, Troy Kelsey, Crystal and Ashley Kelsey; six great-grandchildren; her brother, Hubert (Adele) Woodard; and a friend of 63 years, Phyllis Sanderson.
      She was predeceased by her husband, Willard M. Kelsey in 1976; and her sisters, Jean Marie Woodard and Shirley Shipos; and her brother, George Woodard.
