MICHAEL SWEENEY GRADUATES CUM LAUDE FROM U OF R
|
Michael Sweeney, son of Lynne and John Sweeney of Clifton Springs and a 2001 graduate of Midlakes High school, graduated cum laude from the University of Rochester in ceremonies held May 15. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from the College of Arts & Sciences. He also received the 2005 American Institute of Chemists Award in recognition of his demonstrated record of ability, leadership, and professional promise.
Michael was also named to the dean's list for the spring 2005 semester. He is currently enrolled at the U of R Margaret Warner Graduate School for Education & Human Development in the Urban Teaching and Leadership program, where he has been awarded a Fifth Year in Teaching Scholarship. Graduates of this program receive a Master of Science degree, become certified to teach by the NYS Department of Education, and commit to teach in an urban school for two years.
