PULSE OXIMETER PROJECT

Finger Lakes Visiting Nurse Service is grateful and pleased to announce that the Yates County Tuberculosis and Health Association is sponsoring a project targeting the purchase of a pulse oximeter. This medical equipment will help Ontario-Yates Hospice clinicians perform their work by monitoring blood oxygen levels in patients.
Ontario-Yates Hospice, a program of Finger Lakes visiting Nurse Service, is a service for people who have made the conscious decision not to pursue curative treatment for a life-limiting illness. Hospice provides multidisciplinary team expertise in end of life care. When a patient enters our hospice program they receive nursing visits by nurses who are trained in pain and symptom management, home health aid service when needed, social work support, pastoral care support and visits from trained volunteers if desired. Hospice physician support is also available. The focus is on caring and Ontario-Yates Hospice strives to enhance the quality of life. Our team treats both the patient and family providing support to everyone whether care is provided in the patient's home, nursing home or comfort care facilities.
