Harlin R. Tyler Jr.
EAST PALMYRA - Harlin R. Tyler Jr., 78, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2005.
Friends were invited to call on Monday, Aug. 1 at the McGuire-Hargrave & Murphy Funeral Home in Palmyra. Funeral services and full military honors will be held privately at East Palmyra Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 145 Buffalo St., Canandaigua, NY 14424.
He is survived by his children, Cathy (Carl) Ormsbee of Newark, Nancy (Robert) Kelly of Phelps, David (Cindy) Tyler of Lyons, Donna Tyler of Spencerport; grandchildren, Carl (Renee) Ormsbee II, Elizabeth Ormsbee, Matthew Tyler, Kristina Kelly, Patrick Tyler; siblings, Bonnie (Lowell) Harmon, Eleanor Custer, Ronald Tyler, Lettie Case, Gerald (Joanne) Tyler; many nieces, nephews and aunts.
He was predeceased by his wife, Adriana, July 20, 2005; siblings, Shirley Everett, Laverne Tyler, Arnold Tyler; and parents, Harlin R. Sr. and Ruth (Goodman) Tyler.
Linda K. Krone
GENEVA - Linda K. Krone, 60, passed away Monday, Aug. 1, 2005 at Geneva Living Center South.
Friends and family called Wednesday, Aug. 3 at the DeVaney-Bennett Funeral Home in Geneva. Funeral services were Thursday, Aug. 4 at the funeral home. The Rev. Ralph Locke officiated. Burial followed in Oaklawn Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Linda was born in Clifton Springs, the daughter of the late Erwin and Mary Reed Mills. She was employed at Sylvania and worked as a nurse's assistant at Margaret Hyres Nursing Home and the Department of Veterans Administration Medical Center in Canandaigua.
Linda is survived by her son, Scott (Shari) Krone of Romulus; daughter, Lori Krone of Geneva; grandson, Jonathan Kinf of Geneva; two sisters, Mary (Paul) Long and George Anna (John) Long, both of Geneva; brother, Richard Mills of Geneva and Dave Mills of Pueblo, Colo.; several nieces and nephews; grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Eugene Krone.
Martha Merscher
CLIFTON SPRINGS - Martha Merscher, 62, passed away Friday, July 29, 2005 at the Clifton Springs Hospital & Clinic.
In keeping with her wishes there were no prior calling hours. Funeral services will be at the convenience of the family.
Friends may contribute to the House of John, 14 Spring St., Clifton Springs, 14432, in Martha's memory.
Martha was born Jan. 7, 1943, in Salem, the daughter of the late Clinton and Elizabeth Coon. She was employed as a health aide at the Ryder Adult Home. Martha was a member of the Phelps American Legion Auxiliary and the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. She enjoyed making crafts and loved to go camping and fishing. Martha will be sadly missed by all her loving family and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband, William of Clifton Springs; children, Susanne Dreher of Newark, Jack Fischer Jr. of Glens Falls, Fred Merscher of Phelps, and David Merscher of Gorham; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters.
She was predeceased by her sisters, Elizabeth and Dorothy; and brothers, Harold, Richard, and Clinton Coon.
Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to the Patrick Funeral Home in Clifton Springs.
Leah M. McCurdy
BRANCHPORT - Leah M. McCurdy, 55, died Monday, Aug. 1, 2005 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital.
Friends attended her memorial service on Friday, Aug. 5 at the First Baptist Church of Manchester with the Rev. Darryl Powell officiating.

Leah was born Sept. 23, 1949, in Clifton Springs, the daughter of Eugene R. Potter and Thelma Mae Philley Potter. She was a graduate of Gates-Chili High School and Rochester Business Institute, and she received her LPN from BOCES. She very much enjoyed her career in nursing and health care and her work as a private duty nurse.
She is survived by her three children, William B. McCurdy of Adams, Margaret M. McCurdy of Branchport and Janet E. McCurdy of Bristol; grandson, Gavin B. McCurdy; brother, Ronald E. Potter of Branchport; and her sister, Eydie (William) Schmidt of Sodus; several nieces, nephews and close friends.
John Albert "Jack" Reed Sr.
CLIFTON SPRINGS - John Reed Sr., 79, of County Road 27, Clifton Springs, passed away suddenly Wednesday, July 27, 2005 at Strong Memorial Hospital.
Friends called at the Patrick Funeral Home in Clifton Springs on Sunday, July 31. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Friends may contribute to the Port Gibson Fire Dept. or to the House of John in John's memory.
John was born Jan. 15, 1926 in Clifton Springs, the son of the late Albert and Mary Reed and had lived in the area all of his life. He was a lifelong farmer, owning and operating Reedland Farms. John was also a lifetime member of the Port Gibson Fire Department. John will be sadly missed by all his loving friends and family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Arline; daughter, Kathy (Skip) Craig of Sodus; sons, John II (Anita) Reed and James (Christine) Reed, both of Clifton Springs; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; brother, William Reed of Clifton Springs; sister, Shirley Hayden of Manchester.
John was predeceased by his first wife, Meryl.
Alan Lee Penner
SENECA CASTLE - Alan Lee Penner, 66, of Buffalo Street, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2005 at Highland Hospital in Rochester, after a short illness.
Friends called at John C. Johnson Funeral Home in Canandaigua on Friday, Aug. 5. A funeral service was at the funeral home on Saturday, Aug. 6. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Canandaigua.

Mr. Penner was born Sept. 12, 1938, in Canandaigua, the son of Miles and Mary (Snook) Penner. He graduated from Canandaigua Academy in 1956. He retired in 2002 from P&C Foods after many years. Mr. Penner enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time at home with his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Jean Penner; seven children, Karen (Bob) Morgan of North Carolina, Christopher (Charlene) Penner of Clifton Springs, Dawn Penner of Geneva, Kendra (Jay) Bauer of Middlesex, Deanna (Bill) Criss, Darcy Penner, both of Ohio, and Kevin Penner of Seneca Castle; seven grandchildren, Brent, Nathan, Joshua, Kyle, Dia, Breanna and Cassidy; one great-grandson, Blake; and one brother, Gary Penner of Canandaigua.
He was predeceased by his parents, Miles and Mary Penner; two brothers, Richard and Phillip Penner; and his sister Eileen Faulkner.
Carl E. Priebe Sr.
PHELPS - Carl E. Priebe Sr., 82, of Exchange St., Phelps, passed away Monday, Aug. 1, 2005 at the Clifton Springs Hospital.
Friends called Thursday, Aug. 4 at the Eacker Funeral Home, in Phelps. Funeral services were Friday, Aug. 5 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Maplegrove Cemetery in Waterloo.
Friends may contribute to their favorite charity in Carl's memory.
Carl was born Oct. 15, 1922, in Fulton, the son of the late Charles and Florence Priebe. He served his country during World War II in the Coast Guard. Carl was a member of the former St. John's Episcopal Church in Phelps and the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers. He loved to create and work with his hands, building everything from furniture to houses in his spare time. Carl will be sadly missed by all his loving friends and family.
He is survived by his sons, Carl E. Priebe Jr., and Michael H. (Carol) Priebe, all of Phelps; grandson, Mitchell Carl Priebe; sisters, Helen Lindstrom, Lorraine Hause, and Anne Dean; brothers, Charles Priebe II, Richard Priebe and Paul Priebe; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Virginia; sisters, Florence Plyter, Dorothy Custer, and Elsie Wagner; and brother, Jack Priebe.
