FLCC INDUCTS NEW MEMBERS TO THE ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME
CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (Aug. 4, 2005) - Finger Lakes Community College recently inducted two new members to the Athletic Hall of Fame. Patricia L. Manley and Martin C. Dodge were honored for their participation in FLCC athletics. Additionally, Andrea J. DiNieri was named Outstanding Scholar Athlete for the 2003-2004 academic year.
Manley was an FLCC two-sport athlete from 1997 to 1999. As captain of the women's soccer team, she was named All League for the Mid-State Athletic Conference. As captain of the women's lacrosse team, she was named Most Valuable Player and also won the FLCC Coach's Award. Manley holds FLCC lacrosse records for most goals in a game and most goals in a season. After FLCC, she transferred to Central Connecticut State, a division I school where she played both soccer and lacrosse and was named captain of the lacrosse team. After receiving a bachelor's degree, Manley worked at Keuka College, where she established and coached the women's lacrosse team until 2003. She is currently the head coach of women's lacrosse at the Rochester Institute of Technology.
Dodge, professor of environmental conservation and horticulture, established the FLCC woodsmen's team in 1974. Under Coach Dodge's leadership, the men's teams have captured the annual championship 15 times since 1983. The women's teams have 14 championship titles beginning in 1980. His devotion to the woodsmen's team inspired hundreds of FLCC students to participate in the outdoor events, with more than 30 woodsmen's team alumni competing in national and international professional circuits, holding world championship titles, and breaking world records. As the coach with the longest history at FLCC, Dodge's enthusiasm and dedication to the Woodsmen's Team has made it an integral part of the College.

DiNieri was named Outstanding Scholar Athlete for the 2003-2004 academic year, an annual recognition of the academic accomplishments of an athlete from the previous year who achieved the highest grade point average while participating on an intercollegiate athletic team. With a 3.89 grade point average, DiNieri earned an A.A. liberal arts and sciences degree while she was a member of the women's basketball team. She intends to transfer to Hamilton College in the fall of 2005 to pursue a bachelor's degree in psychology.

FLCC FALL REGISTRATION UNDERWAY

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (Aug. 2, 2005) - Finger Lakes Community College announces walk-in registration for students enrolling on a part-time, non-matriculated basis for the fall 2005 semester. Fall courses begin Aug. 27, and registration will be held at the following times and locations.
In Canandaigua: Monday-Thursday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Fridays 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m., FLCC Registrar's Office, 4355 Lakeshore Drive.
In Geneva: August 16, Registration: 4:30 - 5:30 p.m., Placement Testing: 2 p.m., FLCC Geneva Center, 361 Main St., (315) 789-6701.
In Newark: August 17, Registration: 4:30 - 5:30 p.m., Placement Testing: 2 p.m., FLCC Newark Center, 111 Drumlin Court, (315) 331-9098.
Freshman English (ENG 101) and foreign language courses require placement testing prior to registration. Testing for ENG 101 will be held in Newark and Geneva, as indicated above. For more information and for additional testing times, visit www.flcc.edu/testing or call (585) 394-FLCC, ext. 7267.
Students with no formal instruction in foreign language may take the beginning language courses (SPN 101, FRN 101). Students who have formal instruction in foreign language should take the foreign language exam. It may be taken at the FLCC library anytime during regular working hours. Students who place well in the language exam and complete an upper level language course with a grade of C or higher are eligible for three additional credits for a lower level language course.
Students registering for one to 11 credit hours (as part-time students) may register during walk-in registration or by mail using the mail-in registration form in the FLCC Fall Course Listing Publication. The form can also be downloaded from the FLCC Web site at www.flcc.edu/registrar. Full-time students (those who are enrolling in 12 credit hours or more) are not eligible to register by mail and must register in person. Students born on or after January 1, 1957, and registering for six or more credit hours must provide proof of immunity to measles, mumps, and rubella in order to attend classes. Additionally, New York State requires that all students enrolled in six or more credits (except Gemini students) receive information on meningococcal meningitis disease and vaccine availability. When registering, Ontario County residents must present identification with signature and non-Ontario County residents must obtain a Certificate of Residence from their county treasurer.

FLCC ANNOUNCES TWO NEW HEAD COACHES

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (Aug. 4, 2005) - Finger Lakes Community College recently hired Arthur Barrett as the head coach of the women's basketball team and Patrick Greer as head coach of the baseball team.
Barrett, of Webster, who previously coached at Greece Olympia High School and Monroe Community College, has a record of 300 wins, with four consecutive 20-win seasons. He led the Monroe Community College team to the National Tournament in 1993 and 1996, finishing as runner-up in 1996. Barrett has received several coaching honors including Monroe County Division II Champions, Monroe County Division II Coach of the Year, New York State Junior College Coach of the Year, Region III Coach of the Year, and Coach of the Year for the Western New York Athletic Conference.
Greer, of Rochester, has been an assistant coach for the FLCC baseball team for the past three seasons. Additionally, Greer coaches the Rayson-Miller American Legion team in Pittsford and the Monroe County Babe Ruth team, who finished fourth in the state in 2004. As a former player for FLCC, Greer led the Lakers in batting average, home runs, and RBIs as a sophomore. He transferred to St. John Fisher College and was named to the All-Empire Eight team as a junior and senior and was also named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference First Team.
