      Lou Dobbs hadda segment on "wasted minds" statin' many kids are quittin' school, droppin' out. He, like many others, tch, tch, all over the place, but reality states ain't much kin be done since social programs make laziness a payin' proposition. Since you've read it here afore, hafta use a fresh chaw.
      Teachers an' educators, a mind is a terrible thing t' waste, are you wastin' minds of students? Let's put parents inta this equation since whelpin' kids an' throwin' 'em inta schools sayin' t' educators, "educate my kid, don't abuse them an' if they're disruptive it's yer fault anyway." Wastin' minds kin be cooperative project involvin' all of society. No one takes credit fer bad things, only good things.
      How do yer stimulate larnin'? In m' case m' father decided correctly I'd never be a farmer. He, notice the word he, put me inta college entrance courses, made my life Hades fer four years. Math, Latin, an' science courses. Was hard, got no sympathy when I complained. Teacher's hard time warn't near as bad as parents when low grades appeared on the report card. Punishment was comin' , was tol' why an' that I'd better git m' grades up. Number one on larnin' scale is parents demandin' kids pay attention an' get good grades in school. Was I qualified t' pass above courses? Well, I did, don't know how cause other kids were a lot smarter than I.
      The second part is teachers bein' allowed t' teach in safe classrooms, without fear of bein' tromped on, or abused by parents whose brain ain't very active either. If kids fail, they fail, repeat grade, no social promotions. M' biggest fear was bein' "kept back" with the ridicule that came with it from other kids.
      Next is educator hierarchy itself. Money spent on administration doesn't hire one extry teacher. Some administration expenses're better spent on education. Sal'ries are shameful, assistants, etc., helpin' 'em. Funny part 'bout work is it'll expand t' fit people workin'. In short, more people, less work fer same output.
      Administrators say mainstreamin' is a problem. No, it wouldn't be if you wouldn't compartmentalize slow larners, discouragin' their progress. Let smart kids help slow ones, it works!! Teachers intent on Ritilizin' disruptive kids don't solve the problem, only causes more in later years. Druggin' kids inta obedience doesn't address the problem!
      Larnin' ain't meant t' be easy, an' shouldn't be. Kids who cain't larn in school excel in military schools because they get information banged inta their heads. Been there, seen it done. Private schools are successful because of discipline parameters, only difference twixt them an' public schools.
      Final note t' parents: if y' have a computer, there's advanced programs beyond their grade level. Stimulate their minds, schools may not. Experts'll frown on it, but lessen there's rewards fer larnin' kids'll grow up dumb, never larn t' write good. Like me! 'Nuff sed.
