Poem of the Week
|
By Ralph J. Adams
KATRINA
What happened in our country
When this hurricane disaster came,
We couldn't wait to point our fingers,
And try to pass who was the blame.
This is the time for our country,
Give relief and quick,
And forget about whose fault it is,
Forget the politics.
Bring us all together
Let us clasp each and every hand,
And bring back the way it should have been,
For our fellow man.
What can we do? What must be done?
To help these families with no homes.
We can give money, and give blood,
Pray for the people who were in this flood.
This was an awakening call.
Let's give our love and helping hand,
Let's bring all our races together,
And you will plainly see,
We live up to what our land was built on,
This land of love and liberty.

SPRINGTIME
|
Each Spring I see a brilliant color
Burst forth from Mother Earth.
I learn anew that God creates
Each flower in new birth.
Each Spring a fragrance fills the air,
And butterflies will hover
To carry pollen for new growth
And make a floral cover.
Each Sprig I hear a redbird sing
To Winters day's farewell.
There's warmth and joy upon the earth
As Springtime casts her spell.
