The Community Party of Phelps is taking a new approach to building awareness in the community for the November election; an approach that has never been used before for a local campaign. The Community Party has launched a campaign website at www.communityparty.org. The website gives voters the opportunity to learn about what the The Community Party candidates have to offer and what they stand for. There is a demographic that exists today of working families that are unlikely to have the opportunity to participate in a "Meet the Candidates" event and may not be at home when door to door visits are made. Approximately 45% of the registered voters in Phelps are aged 45 or younger. In all likelihood, computers are present in these voters lives. In addition, 15% of the registered voters have registered within the last 4 years and in all likelihood are not familiar with any of the candidates running for office. Although traditional campaigning will continue, we feel it is important to reach out to all voters and make use of the technology that is available to us today. Voters even have the opportunity to submit questions to the candidates via www.communityparty.org. The Community Party will continue to use innovative and traditional means to communicate with the Town of Phelps residents.
