Manure Spill Prevention Information on New York EDEN Web Site

Through a collaborative effort on the part of several Cornell Cooperative Extension programs that work with livestock producers, water quality, and farm safety and health issues, a Web page has been created and may be accessed through the New York Extension Disaster Education Network (NY EDEN) website: http://emergencypreparedness.cce.cornell.edu. (Click on "Manure spill response and prevention" under "Hot Topics."). The Web page addresses the following issues regarding liquid manure storage facilities:

" Spill Prevention and Applicable Standards
" Education and Training Resources
" General Information on Manure Storage and Safety
Four Cornell programs are involved in this collaborative effort: Pro-Dairy, Cornell Manure Management Program, Natural Resources and Environment, and Cornell Agricultural Health & Safety Program.
