Boonie writers' thoughts might not conform t' national discourses, but it takes a lotta input t' write articles like these. Many wonder who the nut is, etc., etc.
Been watchin' shenanigans over CIA outin' o' Ms. Plame (for Flame, which sure ignited a fire). When it comes t' national politics common people don't have 'nuff say-so on a pinhead. However, my concern is over who does what an' t' whom at what level.
Startin' at the local level, people like zonin' officers got a major say in what goes on in a community. They can, an' do play fav'rites, only cuz they have power. Trouble is a little authority often goes t' the head of a person, becomin' autocratic, disagreeable, etc. County supervisors, an' I've known a few, treat voters like dirt 'til election time, then they cover voters like syrup on pancakes. Higher y' go, more arrogant they become. In essence, they don't care ' bout common problems, only ones which kin git them re-elected.
We're now at the state level polyticians in this discussion. Trouble nowadays is lessen there's a C note in your request, chances are their office staff will deep-six it. Another aspect is callin' too often 'bout a subject, which results in another label. State politicians may give lip service t' locals but lessen it helps re-election or kowtowin' t' leaders it ain't gonna be done. (Must make an exception fer the late Frank Talomie, he always was there, intelligently. Got a lotta good things done, he did.)
Once politicians reach the national level they're 'bout as accessible as a Peterbilt haulin' a double pony. Letters t' them are rarely answered. Coupla years ago I got a call from Schumer's office, person only interested in slatin' comments t' suit his press release. Hillary's become a lost cause pretty much. She's been indoctrinated - anythin' above Middletown is part of the Canadian provinces. Except of course where big cities are, they both are there.
Which leads t' president an' his cabinet people. Up front, lessen y' got a spare mill or two, yer gonna git the short shrift. Like now, with Jeb Bush comin' on inside fer next pres. election, the only common people that're gonna git help is illegals. They'll git t' vote under guest worker programs. Katrina rebuilders got prevailin' wage removed, no bid contracts, etc., an' y' have a Republican victory in 2008. Common, hard workin' Americans wantin' t' work ain't got a prayer, 'specially when under-the-table wage employers git t' make mega bucks.
Where does all these ideas come from? National papers, Media, etc., all whom are pretty much controlled by the party in power through FCC sanctions. Where does the common man come it? Frankly, he doesn't, because when the next election comes, they'll spout what they're gonna do, an' then they won't do it. Happens 'crost all levels of politics. Nuff sed?
