TAYLOR-BROWN AUXILIARY HOLDS ANNUAL MEETING
|
The Taylor-Brown Auxiliary, serving the Huntington Living Center, held its annual meeting and luncheon at Abigail's Restaurant on October 19. Phyllis Dunlap, President, presided over the attendees including Auxiliary members and special guests Lara Turbide, Vice President Community Services for Finger Lakes Health and Kristen Einstein, Executive Director Finger Lakes Health Foundation. Alice Wadhams, Treasurer, presented the annual report for the period 10/1/04 to 10/1/05. Gifts totaling $5,834 were given to benefit the residents of the Huntington Living Center. Several attendees were recognized for special accomplishments. Betty Geraghty was given a plaque in recognition of the 14 years she managed the gift shop in the Living Center lobby before retiring from that position this year. The gift shop is an important fund-raising source for the Auxiliary. Dorothy Wixom, Marie E. Marsh and Mary E. Bohensky, who have been members of the Auxiliary since its inception in 1958 and are still active, were recognized. Recognition was also given to two members who have made special contributions. Betty DeBottis finished knitting her 800th baby cap for the hospital and Agnes Marshall, Chapter VI, was given special thanks for single-handedly making favors for Living Center residents' meal trays. In addition, Lucille VanNostrand was thanked for her contributions as Corresponding Secretary for the Auxiliary Board. Leonie Seitz will be taking over her duties. Finally a dozen new members were welcomed.
The ladies and gentlemen of the Taylor-Brown Auxiliary provide leadership, friendship, volunteer service opportunities and conduct important fund raising activities that benefit the residents of the Huntington Living Center. Membership is open to anyone interested. Your membership alone helps the Auxiliary reach its goals. Your active membership is welcomed and helps the Auxiliary to grow and become an effective advocate for long term care in the community Annual membership dues are $5.
