Doc and Katy Abraham Green Thumb Memorial Award
     Maureen O'Connor, a teacher at the Midlakes Intermediate School, was honored as the 2005 recipient of the Doc and Katy Abraham Green Thumb Memorial Award. The award was made during the Cornell Cooperative Extension Fall Garden Symposium held at the Community College of the Finger Lakes on November 5, 2005. Maureen has been instrumental in providing her students and many other students in the Midlakes Intermediate School exposure and opportunities to experience first-hand the importance and value of horticulture. Be it beautification around the school grounds, planting and maintaining a Kids Growing Food Garden or growing a Native American Three Sisters Garden, Maureen has always looked to incorporate horticulture within her classroom curriculum.
