Poem of the Week
|
By Ralph J. Adams HAPPY IS THE CHILD
Happy is my granddaughter in her little world
Curly hair and on her head a lacy bonnet
With ribbons and flowers on it
Long flowing dress as she tries to reel
Stumbling over shoes with mother's high heels.
This wonderful world in how to pretend
How to look beautiful with that grown up look
Her magical dreams she hoped would never end
Created by her imaginations out of a fairy book
Just enjoy your little world my precious child
For this will only last for a little while
Act out your world while you are young
Be happy and have your little fun
For too soon you will face the grown up world
Then you will never be that little girl
But no matter in this world where you are
You will always be our own little precious star
Thank God for the photos we took back then
For our great world of you will never end.
By By Laverne P. Larson THANKSGIVING
Thanksgiving is a cozy home
Where the lamplights shine,
Where love and understanding
Cause all hearts to entwine.
Thanksgiving is the golden bond
Of friendships tried and true,
Giving strength and courage
And happiness to you.
Thanksgiving is hope and faith
Throughout the passing years,
And though your plans sometimes fail,
Smiling through the tears.
Thanksgiving is acceptance of
The tasks we have to do,
And being grateful for each day,
With special dreams to view.
Thanksgiving is a silent prayer
We say on bended knee,
To thank God for the blessings
He bestows on you and me.
