PHIL LOSSIFER

Friday night, November 18th must forever live showin' govmint gone mad. Both political parties engagin' in a stupid display of disrespect for their organization, American people an' our G.I.s. That's bottom line, an' should make us madder than hell! It wasn't democracy in action, it was personal public vendettas!
This column has writ many opines since Iraq War started. Ain't gonna chew old chaws, look 'em up. Don't use term unpatriotic, 'was one when it wasn't cool.
Fifty five years ago a ragtag army fled in disarray before an enemy. Was there, yet decades later govmint hasn't produced equipment t' protect troops. That army regrouped, not by politics, but sheer guts, an' drove the enemy back. Could've whipped 'em, but politics an' home support waned. They were sold down the river, leave it there. Korean troops were "trained" t' fight fer themselves, never happened, jes like Viet Nam, an' now Iraq. Citizens of countries bein' made safe fer democracy were quite willin' t' let Americans do the dyin'!
All politicians share the blame fer Iraq. They voted Bush war powers citin' many things. Frankly, Congressional people din't do their job of oversight. Now blamin' each other, callin' opponents traitors for disagreein' with the President. Bottom line is they din't do their job keepin' our military strong, an' our intelligence first rate. Yet, Woodard an' Novack are deified by some officials fer outin', an' endangerin' the life of an agent.
Words sed on House floor may be retracted from the record, but remain with Media's visuals. But, this wasn't the first time, was it? After all, din't Powell eat crow defendin' policies he knew were wrong? Wasn't McCain an' Clendenon pictured as cowards durin' 2000 campaign. Accusations run rampant. It's attack govmint at best, or worse. A democracy, or committee dictatorship?
Here's the deal: Right er wrong, we're in Iraq, an' the country is bein' destroyed by their OWN people. It's a religious war, not Christians aginst Muslims, but Muslims aginst each other! Terrorists have no respect fer mosques, women or children. They want a nation dominated by religious tenets completely foreign t' civilized societies.
Listen closely t' Congressman Murtha's talk, it's apparent what he said, an' Republicans amendment stated were difference twixt night an' day. Leavin' Iraq isn't an option, we owe the Iraqis. He stated look at present policy, an' change it if necessary.
Two things stand out: One, returnin' veterans will receive Viet an' Korean returnees attitudes: Congress will divert funds inta pork projects; Protestors who've never missed a meal, nor been endangered will condemn those from poor or middle class who serve: For them, patriotism is a dirty word. Nuff sed? We have irresponsible, selfish people in Congress, caterin' t' protestors - nation's security an' people be danged!
Perhaps "nuff sed" would be appropriate? No, because our elected representatives are undeservin' of their positions. An' we voted them in! That's the tragic part!!!!
