FLCC BOARD OF TRUSTEES ELECTS OFFICERS FOR 2006
CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (Jan. 10, 2006)- The Board of Trustees at Finger Lakes Community College recently held its election of officers for the year 2006. Elected were: Robert Griswold of Phelps, chair; Anne Galbraith of Canandaigua, vice chair; and Donald I. Wickham of Victor, secretary. "Mr. Griswold, Ms. Galbraith, and Mr. Wickham bring a high level of experience and knowledge to their respective roles as officers of the Board of Trustees," said Dr. Daniel T. Hayes, president of FLCC. "Their leadership and stewardship of the financial resources of the College and their concern for the education and welfare of students serves the residents of Ontario County and the Finger Lakes region well." Griswold is currently chairman of Ontario Telephone Company, Inc. and the Trumansburg Telephone Company. He has been a member of the FLCC Board of Trustees since 1999, serving as secretary in 2002 and 2003, and vice chair in 2004 and 2005. He also serves as a member of the Board of the Ontario County Industrial Development Agency. A few of his past activities include: chairman of the Board of the Ontario County Industrial Development Agency, chairman and board member of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of the Rochester area; chairman and board member of Finger Lakes Long Term Care Insurance Company; chairman and board member of the New York State Telecommunications Association, Inc.; member of the Board of Directors of the Deposit Telephone Company, Inc.; president of the Empire Chapter Independent Telephone Pioneers; member of the Regional Advisory Board of Fleet Bank; member of the Finger Lakes Community College Foundation Board of Directors; trustee of the Village of Clifton Springs; and president of Clifton Springs YMCA.
Griswold is a graduate of Clifton Springs Central School and received his bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College. He received an honorable discharge from the United States Air Force Reserve with the rank of captain.
Galbraith, a member of the Board since 2000, served as secretary in 2004 and 2005. She presently serves as Trustee liaison to the FLCC Alumni Association. She is currently an attorney specializing in family law, in particular the representation of children. She opened her own practice in Canandaigua in 1991. In 2001, Galbraith received the Hon. Michael F. Dillon Award for Outstanding Representation of Children in the Seventh Judicial District. Previously, she was vice president and senior attorney for Chase Lincoln First Bank. She also held several positions at Lincoln First Bank, such as assistant vice president and assistant counsel as well as staff attorney. Galbraith received her juris doctor degree from Syracuse University College of Law and her bachelor's degree from Denison University in Granville, Ohio. She is a member of the New York State and Yates County Bar Associations. She is a past president of the Ontario County Bar Association, and previously served in other positions in that Association. Galbraith is past chairperson of the South Bristol Zoning Board of Appeals. She has volunteered extensively in the Canandaigua schools and at church. Wickham, a member of the Board since 2001, serves as the Trustee liaison to the student corporation. Wickham owned and operated a large vegetable and grain farm in the Stanley area for 40 years. Currently, he farms part-time, working with one of his sons. He graduated from Gorham High School and received a bachelor of science degree in agriculture from Cornell University. His past activities include: Town of Seneca Zoning Board and chairman for 12 years; member of the Village of Victor Urban Renewal Board; director of the New York/Buffalo branch of the Federal Reserve Board; director of National Bank of Geneva for 30 years; and director and past president of Pro-Fac Cooperative, a national farmer owned cooperative. He previously served in many different capacities in the Gorham Rotary Club.
Wickham is a member of the First United Methodist Church of Canandaigua and has served on both the finance committee and the Board of Trustees. Other FLCC Board of Trustee members include Robert Belmont, William A. Bigham, Dr. Karen Davison Blazey and Jeffrey A. Friend of Canandaigua; Harry G. Burt of Geneva; and Gen. Charles P. McCausland of Hall.
