Antoinette H. Radder

      GENEVA - Antoinette H. Radder, 81, of 1021 Waterloo-Geneva Road, passed away on Sunday, Jan 15, 2006 in the Seneca Nursing Home.
      Friends called Tuesday, Jan. 17 at the DeVaney-Bennett Funeral Home. Funeral services were Wed., Jan. 18 in the Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial at noon in the St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
      Memorial contributions, in her memory, may be made to Alzheimer's research.
      Antoinette was born in Canandaigua and lived in Geneva for many years. She was the daughter of the late Ottavio and Amelia Simeone Pastore. She was retired from the Acme Markets and was a member of VFW Post 2670 Auxiliary and St. Stephen's Church. She and her husband enjoyed traveling throughout the United States in her retirement.
      She is survived by her husband, Carl; two daughters, Vivian (Paul) Rosenthal of Phelps and Beth (Jerry) Cooke of Geneva; one son, Carl (Ellen) Radder Jr. of Dresden; five granddaughters; and two great-grandsons; her sister, Elvira McDermott of Canandaigua and several nieces and nephews.
      She was predeceased by her son, David Radder and two brothers; and two sisters.


Michael L. MacUmber

      SHORTSVILLE - Michael L. MacUmber, age 45, of 1188 County Road 7, died unexpectedly Sunday, Jan. 15, 2006 in the town of Barrington.
      Friends called Thursday, Jan. 19 at the Cheney Funeral Home in Phelps. A funeral Mass was celebrated Friday, Jan. 20 at St. Mary's Church in Canandaigua with the Rev. Thomas Mull officiating. Burial will be in White Haven Memorial Park in Pittsford.
      Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's Church, 95 N. Main St., Canandaigua 14424.
      Michael was born Dec. 2, 1960, in Chandler, Ariz., the son of Lorn MacUmber and Kathleen Dunhaver. Michael was an avid hunter and loved being outdoors and in the woods. He was also a very hard worker and co-owned and operated Kendia Realty. Michael was also self-taught in the area of hazardous mold and became a certified inspector for mold. He was a member of Environmental Solutions Association and American Indoor Quality Counsel.
      He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Betsy MacUmber of Shortsville; three sons, Alex, Dave and Zeke MacUmber; niece, Cassi, who was like a daughter; father, Lorn (Carol) MacUmber of Colorado; grandmother, Mary Jane Donaldson of Webster; uncles, Fred Donaldson Jr. and Steve (Lane MacAuley) Donaldson; aunt, Maryann (Burke) Dickinson; many special nieces, nephews and cousins; mother-in-law, Mary Virginia Halbleib; sisters-in-law, Suzanne Simmons, Laurie and Carol MacUmber, Alicia (Money) Burgio and Carol (Gary) VanCola; and Bill Stofer, who was like a brother.
      He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathleen Dunhaver; his brother, Patrick MacUmber; and grandfather, Fred Donaldson, Sr.


Richard F. Atkinson

      PHELPS - Richard F. Atkinson Sr., 79, of 230 Main St., entered into eternal peace Wednesday, Jan. 18 at the Clifton Springs Hospital & Clinic.
      Friends called Monday, Jan. 23 at the Cheney Funeral Home, 70 Main St., Phelps. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Lynn Spence officiating.
      In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Phelps Ambulance Inc., PO Box 81, Phelps 14532; or VA Medical Center Vol. Services Patient Needs, Account 3A 400, Fort Hill Ave., Canandaigua 14424.
      Mr. Atkinson was born June 6, 1926, in Geneva, the son of the late Fred and Stella Sindinski Atkinson. He retired in 1982 from the American Can Co., in Geneva after 38 years of service. He was a veteran of the Marines, serving in both World War II and the Korean conflict. Mr. Atkinson was a member of Phelps American Legion and a lifetime member of the Newark VFW and former member of the Geneva VFW rifle squad. He was a member of the Buckhorn Sportsman's Club and the Hilltop Gun club. He was also a member of Local Union 1838 UAW. Mr. Atkinson enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and cooking game dinners.
      He is survived by his children, Mike Atkinson of Phelps, Debbie Rugg of Dresden, Jeff Atkinson of Clyde, Cheryl (Daren) Hammond of Phelps and Terry (Paula) Atkinson of Phelps; daughter-in-law, Cindy Atkinson of Phelps; 21 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Susan (William) Dinges of Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
      He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther M. Atkinson, who died in 2001; son, Richie, who died in April 2005; brothers, Arthur and Fred; and sister, Mary Peirgrosso.

Richard Leigh Dunham

      PHELPS - Richard L. Dunham, age 81, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2006 at the Hospice of Rochester/Lifetime Care at St. Mary's after an extended illness.
      Richard was born Oct. 8, 1924, to Max and Leora Dunham and was the grandson of George and Rena Butler of Phelps. He attended Phelps Central School and then joined the Navy, serving on the USS Euraylie in the Philippines and also in Australia during World War II. He was a member of the Phelps American Legion Seeley B. Parish Post 457, the Geneva VFW 2670 and the Union of Operating Engineers Local 545 in Syracuse.
      Friends called Friday, Jan. 20 at the Cheney Funeral Home in Phelps. The Phelps American Legion met at the funeral home on Friday evening, followed by the Geneva VFW. Funeral services were Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Shirley Filiatreau officiating. Private burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
      Richard was married to Betty Jane (Eysaman) Dunham, who passed away in 1979. He was remarried to the late Margaret (Clarke) Dunham, his loving wife of 24 years.
      He is survived by daughters, Nancy (David) Osborn of Macon, Georgia, Kathie (Jim) Lyons of New Hartford, Marge (Ed) Fuller of Newark; son, Rick (Terri Stein) of Rochester; two grandsons, Jim (Tracy) VanDamme and Tim (Donna) VanDamme of Clifton Springs; three granddaughters, Stacey (Tim) Riemer of Charlotte, N.C., Deanne Opdyke of Syracuse and Julie (Scott) Morgan of Penfield; seven great-grandchildren, Jacob, Matthew and Zachary VanDamme, Cassandra and Gabriel VanDamme, and Sydney Riemer and Brady Morgan; step-children, Alan (Patty) Dunham and Patti (Frank) Guerrerri; several cousins and step grandchildren.
      Richard was predeceased by a great-grandson, Trevor Richard VanDamme.

John J. Boniak

      CLIFTON SPRINGS - John J. Boniak, 72, of 214 Spring Run Drive, died Friday, Jan. 20, 2006 at Geneva General Hospital.
      Friends called Tuesday, Jan. 24 at the Cheney Funeral Home in Phelps. Funeral services followed with the Rev. William Mugnolo officiating.
      Memorial donations may be made to the House of John, 14 Spring Street, Clifton Springs 14432.
      John was born in Buffalo, to the late John and Mary Wojtkowiak Boniak.
      He is survived by his two daughters, Karen and Kathleen Boniak of Clifton Springs; many sisters- and brothers-in-law; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and his dog, Lili.
      He was predeceased by his wife, Hilda, in 2004; and sisters, Mary Wrobel, Charlotte Federowicz, and Dorothy Neimczyk.


John S. Truitt

      PALMYRA - John S. Truitt, 58, died on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2006.
      Family and friends called on Sunday, Jan. 22 at the Robert L. Yost Funeral Home, Inc., in Palmyra, where a funeral service was held Monday, Jan. 23. Burial with military honors followed in Palmyra Cemetery.
      Contributions in memory of John may be directed to the American Cancer Society, 1400 Winton Road N., Rochester 14609.
      John was born on May 1, 1947 in Omak, Wash., to John A. and Thelma Staggs Truitt. He and the former Nancy Ingraham were married on April 18, 1969, in Palmyra. John was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 6778 and a member and past commander of the James R. Hickey Post No. 120 of the American Legion where he had served in many capacities including Boys State counselor and past county Commander. The funeral home proudly flew the U.S. Navy flag in honor of John's service to the country. He was a member of the Palmyra Volunteer Fire Department and the Wayne County Highway Committee. John had retired from the U.S. Postal service as post master in Phelps. He had been an avid fan of the Washington Redskins and enjoyed golf and hunting.
      Mr. Truitt is survived by his wife, Nancy; daughters, Carol (Luke) Bentley and Sarah (Angelo) LaFountain; parents, John A. and Thelma Truitt; sisters, Cindy (Allen) Rose, Janice Evarts and Cathy (Mike) Anderson; brothers, Donald, Doug (Anetta) and Jim (Sheila) Truitt; grandchildren, Skylar Truitt, Dakota and Aaron LaFountain, Mariah Jackson and Cain Bentley; brother-in-law, Wally (Cathy) Ingraham; and sister-in-law, Gloria (Dennis) Frey.
      He was predeceased by his sister, Diane Armstrong.
