GENEVA GENERAL HOSPITAL AUXILIARY CONTRIBUTES $15,000 TO THE 2005 GENEVA REGIONAL HEALTH FUND ANNUAL CAMPAIGN

In support of the 2005 Geneva Regional Health Fund Annual Campaign, the Geneva General Hospital Auxiliary board voted recently to make a $15,000 contribution. The donation will fund the purchase of a Viridia Monitor for the Family Birth Center at Geneva General Hospital. A Viridia Monitor measures newborn heart rate, respirations, blood pressure and oxygen levels. It alarms whenever one of these vital signs is outside of the parameters set. It also collects data and provides documentation of these vital signs. "This particular monitor displays critical pieces of information essential to positive outcomes for the women and their infants we care for. Nurses and physicians will have the information needed, at a glance, facilitating quick and necessary responses in a timely fashion," said Maggie Simmons, Nurse Manger of the Family Birth Center. "We are grateful for the auxiliary's continued support enabling us to provide the highest quality of care possible."
"The Geneva General Hospital Auxiliary has a long history of providing for special projects for the hospital and the Living Centers at Geneva," noted Kristen Einstein, Executive Director of the Finger lakes Health Foundation. "Their loyal generosity and tireless efforts are truly inspiring."
The Geneva General Hospital Auxiliary supports Geneva General Hospital and the Living Center at Geneva with donations of both time and funds. Members are advocates for health issues in our area, working in partnership with Finger Lakes Health to assure that high quality health care is available to our community. Membership is open to anyone interested in supporting our local health system. New members are welcome at any time. Call Catherine Barnard, president at 789-7706 or Jean Harman, Community Outreach Coordinator at the hospital at 787-4065 to see how you can get involved.
