Odds 'n ends if y' don't mind:
Allioti Supreme court hearin's somethin' else ain't they? Examine it an' it don't take long afore one sees we're payin' megabucks t' politicians, plus their staff, t' set on their butts an' ask stupid questions. His wife was reduced t' tears, didjer see that? (Musta played fifty times on the tube.) Why anyone in their right or wrong mind would take that crap dished out by boobs, which is what they are! 'Bout the third day I'd git m' geetar out, play a chorus er two of "Take this job, etc."
Most know I don't have much truck with Media. Do you know it's more entertainin' watchin' the His'try Channel or Animal Planet reruns? Watchin' news blurb'll be repeated every fifteen minutes, unless, there's a "breakin' story". Media ferries in a bunch o' nosey noses in interest of a scoop. Likta hear a sheriff say "Fer God's sake, git outta the way, let us take care of things first!"
Din't take long fer money interest t' steal from the poor in New Orleans. Seems powers that be want devastated areas bulldozed without compensation. Fergit people's rights an' years of hard knock work. Don't count when biggies see a chance t' steal property, build on it, 'n let the courts verify their actions!
Same thing happenin' in Floridy. Older trailer parks bein' bought by developers who evict people without compensation. Land is more valuable fer condo's smaller'n twenty foot camper.
Which brings another item. Floridy seems t' have cornered the motor home market. There's a sales lot ever' ten miles or so, packed t' the gills with new units. Ain't no cheapies, most goin' hundred grand or better.
Don't know how anyone kin afford them, campgrounds git from thirty t' seventy bucks a night, er better. Y' see a lot of 'em pullin' their SUV's ahind 'em. Yer talkin' megabucks fer equipment, sayin' nuttin' of the operation cost. There's lots fulla travel trailers, FEMA please note. There's nuff units t' repopulate New Orleans. Dang, fergot, somebody hasta do paper shufflin' thing while common people suffer.
Now onta m' favorite whippin' post. The economy, which in Floridy seems t' be boomin'. New homes goin' fer two hundred thou or better, even trailer park modular units prices are outta sight. If the middle class is hurt by job and pension loss where's the money comin' from?! Tax cuts weren't fer the common man, so assume there's more rich than poor. Bush's tax cut musta worked, or did it! Where's the money comin' from! Stock market headin' fer new highs. No way anyone kin sell their homes located in boonie areas an' get equal homes in Floridy!
Will Rogers sed (1935) we have the best legislators money can buy. Abrahoff provide that, ante higher. Things don't change, names do. 'Nuff sed.

Retirement in Floridy means couch potato time when money is short. Also means listenin' an' watchin' same news stories every fifteen minutes. Or, listenin' t' talkin' heads analyze things over an' over. Some points druthern' chewin' same cabbage"
Lobbyist scandal ain't new. It's bi-partisan beyond reason. No greater authority than Will Rogers wrote 'bout it decades ago. Campaign contributions are forms of buyin' votes for privileges designed t' make the giver richer, or put in a position of obtainin' favors. Without campaign money legislators cain't spread bull on national news. Most git free time from talkin' heads if they appear on programs. Will things change? Don't bet the farm on this 'n. Congress likes freebees given by lobbyists and are unwillin' t' part with them. Eliminate takin' politicians t' dinner? Woe is them, hafta spend their own money, horrors. Floridy cut out buyin' lunches, but can be given money in campaign contributions fer a six-pack. Any change will be in the wordin' only. Once any law is passed, like McCain Fiengold, lawyers'll find five ways of gittin' 'round it, like Swift Boat idiocy. Truth, as written over hundret years ago, is govmint is of, by, an' fer the politicians, an' anyone who things differently shouldn't be in it!
Ms. Clinton an' New Orleans mayor Nagy put their feet in their mouths with comments no sense repeatin'. What's amazin' is Republicrats jump all over these statements. Doesn't freedom of speech allow people t' make dang fools of themselves? There's no corner on that, is there. If Ms. Clinton critics think "plantation" politics bad, didn't Congress larn from Congressman Kuhl how New York State biggies sneak bills through in the dead o' night? New Orleans's mayor's in the same boat, but wasn't the city predominantly black when Katrina hit? White an' wealthy left town, leavin' the poor sufferin'. Ms. Clinton don't care 'bout upstate boonies, jes big cities where campaign funds are. Staff don't answer letters!
News stated Bin Laden broadcast message about American involvement in the world. Threatened attacks in U.S. Not News, wonder ain't happened already. Matter of time 'till it does. Number of illegal immigrants sneakin' in the country equals division or two of enemy troops. There's terrorists sneakin' in, betcher boots on that 'n. What's amazin' is prohibitin' local law from arrestin' 'em! Getting' paranoid one would think Republicrats, neo cons an' libcons would see trouble there. They will when first roadside attack hits. Al Queda'll use small attacks t' inflict terror. If y' read southern papers, though y' find police cain't compete with home grown terror, much less foreign.
Quick note 'bout Floridy drivers: All seem intent bein' first at the stop light, or run it anyway. Drivin' is dangerous, need eyes in the back o' yer head!!
Teachers, get a copy of Joseph Lieberman's book "In Praise of Public Life." Found in buck throw-away section. Should be assigned, studied by students. We hafta git young active in govmint, or refer t' the first paragraph. 'Nuff sed!
