Girl Scout Group Collecting Items for Hurricane Survivors
|
Brownie Girl Scout Group 834 of Manchester is teaming up with Red Jacket Elementary School to collect 1,000 "Zip Loves" for Mississippi survivors of the recent hurricanes. The girls are in first grade.
The eight Girl Scouts and their leader, Ruth Van Gorder, will kick-off the drive at the school this week. They will take in donated items until April 1. Items needed are: bug spray, handi wipes, band aids and other basic first aid supplies, hand sanitizer, personal care items like toothbrushes, tooth paste, deodorant, and shampoo.
"Friends that recently visited the devastated area found there are many remote communities where residents are still in dire need of these items," said Van Gorder.
For more information, or to make a donation, contact Van Gorder at 585.766.9000.
