7 Scouts Earn the Arrow of Light and Cross the Bridge to Boy Scouts




     On Friday February 17th Cub Scout Pack 69 in Clifton Springs, held its annual Blue & Gold ceremony where the 2nd year webelo scouts cross the bridge into Boy Scouting. The evening started out with a pizza, vegetable tray and a salad dinner for the graduating Cub Scouts and their families. The scouts were Jason Charlette, JT Conners, Connor Edgemon, Spencer Linsner, Benjamin Shultes, Logan Snow, and Ryan Welker.
     The crossing over ceremony was held in the Clifton Springs Methodist Church Sanctuary for all the cub scouts and their families. The first group that was called up to receive awards was the tiger club. Paul Welker and Jim Conners, the leaders of the tiger den handed out beads that they earned from various field trips that they have done in our community. Tiger cub scouts are Tyler Boylan, Jonathon Cicero, Chris Romaine, Kenneth Shultes, Seth Welker, and Garrett Vogel. The Wolf cub scouts with their parents received their wolf badge. They were Christopher Canne, Grant Iraci, Andrew Landschoot, Hayden Reynolds, Tyler Steele, and Ethan Taylor with their leaders Kelly, Mark and Bryce Reynolds. Next, the bear cub scouts with their parents received their bear badge. They were Hunter DeJonge, Keyton Ingerick, Danny Jankowski, Thomas Mueller, Joel Romaine, Matthew VanDamme, John Wesche, Brenden Williams, and Grant Young with leaders Michelle, Rick, and Chris Williams, John Mueller and Brian Young. The webelo badge was awarded next to Issac Fremouw, Christopher Kane, Corrado Petruzzelli, Matthew Reals, Richard Munger, and Zachery White with leaders Deb Brown and Rich White.
     Lastly the 2nd year webelo scouts were called up front along with their parents in a candle ceremony to receive the arrow of light award. This is the highest award that a cub scout can earn. The scouts were Jason Charlette, JT Conners, Connor Edgemon, Spencer Linsner, Benjamin Shultes, Logan Snow, and Ryan Welker with leaders Jim Conners, Paul Welker, Jim Snow and Anita Edgemon. The boys were also presented with a plaque and an arrow representing all of their accomplishments in cub scouting made by their leaders. The scouts were welcomed to Troop 59 of Clifton Springs by Scoutmaster Mark Reynolds and Senior Patrol Leader Chris Williams. Coffee, punch, and cake were served in the fellowship hall after the ceremony.
