Clifton Springs Baptist Church Sends Two to Finger Lakes Area Quarterly Meeting
|
The first quarterly meeting of the Finger Lakes Area Region of the American Baptist Conference was held in Dundee, N.Y. March 30th. The meeting was originally scheduled for March 2nd, but was postponed due to serious winter weather there. (While here in Clifton Springs, it was cold, but clear!)
Two representatives from the Clifton Springs Baptist Church, Chip Rosenthal and Jim Hall attended the "dish to pass" dinner and meeting, with about 60 others. After a fine meal, there were several speakers discussing conference and area business, followed by a slide presentation and description of the time and events that were shared by three separate teams of volunteers that went to the Gulf Coast to aid in the hurricane relief effort. These teams were set up through the American Baptist Men's organization. The slides were informative, sometimes funny, and occasionally frightening. The efforts of those involved were greatly appreciated by the people of the Gulf Coast, and by those they represented in the American Baptist Conference.
The next quarterly meeting of the Finger Lakes Baptist Association is June 6th in Altay, N.Y.
