Little news out of Washington is funny these days, but according to political humorist Christopher Buckley - author of Thank You for Smoking, now a film - this is what about D.C. make him chuckle?
* A Frenchman designed it. (France is now our worst ally.)
* The British burned it. (England is now our best ally.)
* Capitol Hill workforce: 30,000; number of registered lobbyists in Washington, D.C.: 32,000.
* We borrow $2 billion a day from foreign banks to finance deficit spending. (Not so funny.)
