GOVERNOR PATAKI PROCLAIMS MAY 10 AS HEALTH CARE AUXILIAN DAY
|
CLIFTON SPRINGS, NY - Governor George E. Pataki has proclaimed May 10, 2006 as Health Care Auxilian Day in New York State to recognize the dedicated auxilians who annually donate more than five million hours of service to their health care facilities and their communities.
On May 10, the Clifton Springs Hospital Auxiliary will have a booth with information on the auxiliary in the main lobby of the Hospital, 2 Coulter Road, Clifton Springs.
During 2005, the Clifton Springs Hospital Auxiliary participated in numerous activities, including blood drives, bone marrow drives, government advocacy, letter writing campaigns, patient transport, health care scholarships and provided financial support to Clifton Springs Hospital and Nursing Home through various sales and events.
In addition to providing valuable services, these activities have helped to raise awareness of the prominent role of health care facilities in the larger community. Statewide, more than 230 health care auxiliaries are affiliated with HANYS, which serves at the key statewide advocate for more than 550 non-profit and public hospitals, health systems, nursing facilities, home care agencies, hospice and adult day care programs, and other related health care facilities throughout New York State.
