FINGER LAKES HEALTH OFFERS SUMMER CAMPS
|
Young people can explore health-related careers this summer at two different programs being offered by Finger Lakes Health in partnership wit the Western New York Rural Area Health Education Center (R-AHEC).
The first program, MASH (Medical Academy of Science and Health) Camp, will be offered July 24-28 at Geneva General Hospital, Geneva. It is open to students entering grades 7 and 8. In its fifth year, over 60 students have attended this popular day camp.
The second program, Camp MEDQUEST, will be offered July 26-27 at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, Penn Yan. It is open to students entering 9th - 12th grades in the fall. Approximately 40 students participated in the first two camps offered.
The programs are designed to allow campers to experience the possibilities of health care careers right where health care services are delivered - in the hospital - guided by healthcare professionals including nurses, therapists, pharmacists, technicians, and others.
