Flowers by Lisa Marie enjoys Business of the Month honors and 7 year anniversary

Flowers by Lisa Marie, Phelps' only full service florist, is being honored in May as the Phelps Chamber of Commerce Business of the Month. Lisa Featherly, the owner, will celebrate seven years in business in October of this year. Lisa studied horticulture at FLCC and worked for eight years as floral designer and manager at the Canandaigua Wegmans supermarket prior to opening her own shop. The Phelps Chamber is pleased to honor Flowers by Lisa Marie; floral service is a core business that provides a great benefit to local residents.
Flowers by Lisa Marie has always held a Main Street address in Phelps but has been at the current location of 104 Main Street for two years. This particular space works well for the shop as it provides front and rear entrances and provides more maneuverability for the handicapped. While the village setting and Main Street location work well for the traditional walk in customers, Lisa stays up to date with web site service, modern computer systems and special FTD programs. The FTD Reminders program is a newer service that the shop is able to offer to customers via email or direct mail and can be used for any type of special occasion, including holidays, birthdays and anniversaries. On line specials and delivery confirmations are also available for all the FTD Worldwide orders.
The focus of Flowers by Lisa Marie is care and superior service for every customer. That philosophy is evident within the store. The shop can service any request, but specializes in sympathy pieces. A special consultation area provides privacy while placing orders. There are several funeral homes in the area that recommend Flowers by Lisa Marie regularly to their clients. Another specialty line for Lisa is Yankee Candles, a favorite among the patrons. There is an ongoing contest allowing customers to win a "Fragrance of the Month" and the candle stock is changed regularly to reflect new seasonal scents. Winners are advertised in the Merchandiser.
Lisa Featherly is a resident of Phelps and the mother of twin boys, who are 12. In addition to being a mom and a business owner, she is also a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant. Flowers by Lisa Marie is open for business Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm and Saturday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The shop can be reached at (315) 548-5472.
