PHIL LOSSIFER

Humor in the news pretty absent nowadays, with gas bags screamin' at guests, same guests invited on news shows, repeatin' rote viewpoints. But, never fear, somewhere out there humor is waitin' fer us. Found it, by gosh, from two national columnists - Cal Thomas and Ruben Navarette on illegal immigration of all things!!
First, t' quote Thomas, who stated: "No politician should be allowed to trade this country's future for enough votes to stay in office." Navarette blames Demmycrats fer the problem, echoin' what Thomas sed. Looks like Phil needs t' educate these two fellas.
All columnists should research Will Roger's biographies of the '30's. It's a textbook of govmint then, updated where it's which become more expensive an' less relevant t' voters. Rogers sed back then we had best govmint money could buy, in t'days world inflation has upped the ante!
First rule of politics: Stay in office! How is this done? Caterin' t' electorate, as Thomas seems to think? What rock he's been under! Polyticians tenure is accomplished by smoochin' the power boys, conglomerates' bosses and fellow politicians! First two have money, latter group's back hasta be scratched at entitlement times, so they'll scratch yers when staff hides spendin' benefittin' local barn raisin'. Since they work 'bout hundred days a year, there's overseas fact findin' trips happenin' near resort areas. Two ways t' git there, spendin' yer own bucks ain't couth. When compaignin' fer election, challengers must be overcome, legally of course, unless y' have a lyin' 501 group. It's apparent Mr. Thomas is spendin' too much time writin' hypothetical things druther'n gittin' out where the commoners are.
As fer Mr. Navarette, he's about two stokes ahind the eight ball also. He blames Demmycrats fer the impasse on illegal immigration. He doesn't realize from his Californy base nobody wants t' do anythin' t' alienate Latino voters who'll be gittin' votin' rights through amnesty! Particularly where he lives! Who is more Latino friendly or unfriendly doesn't matter, it's the votes!! Concept of politicians is don't make 'em mad. They'll vote or Mexie Pres Fox'll stuff ballot box for person s'portin' his agenda.
Were these two esteemed national columnists alone in their diatribes their columns would be laughable. Not so, Horatio, not so. Most columnists an' gas bags mimic each other's words, verbatim!! Haven't seen an original idea from any fer months. Lady columnist at Ocala Star Banner interviewed by Nancy Grace found lessen she said the right words, Ms. Grace cut her off! Sounds like O'Reilly, Limbaugh, name yer favorite. Their new ideas are stolen from someone who doesn't matter.
Can't resist takin' a stab at Lou Dobbs: His protests an' viewers opines like an auctioneer sellin' cracked crocks, opines ain't ringin' where it counts. He needs reality re-read of Will Rogers.
Final work? Ain't one politician deserves re-election! Voters don't have the guts t' kick 'em out! 'Nuff sed, some humor fer a change.

Bein' an' ol' goat I've seen much water run over Flint Creek dam, history repeatin' itself. Biggest worry was militaristic America, which we seem to have now. Like most, we have little influence on our state an' national leaders. Our tribute campaign fundin' jes ain't 'nuff t' git noticed. Ordinarily wouldn't say much more except got scared outta m' boots two ways from Sunday recently.
PBS had a story 'bout Herman Goebbells, who fer his'try dummies was German propaganda minister of the Third Reich. Watchin' this, havin' lived it, was amazed at how Germans accepted his speeches as gospel, even up t' the surrender of Germany. His fanaticism was evident when he poisoned his children rather than see them captured. As events has transpired over the years many nations used his techniques to mislead an' whip people inta nationalistic frenzies.
Were this alone, t'day we hear where Islamic leaders are teachin' hatred of the West, labelin' all non-Islamic people as heathens to be killed or converted. Which was Mohammed's original concept. Either convert or be attacked. History's full of Islamic hordes usin' violence t' further their religion. Even t'day, it's part o' their culture, no matter what apologists say. Many Arab textbooks teach this t' day. Imagine the outcry if our texts promoted violence?
Ever heard of David Addington? Prob'ly not, since he's a bureaucrat who favors public policy change by executive, or Presidential order by use of a "signing statement." Which states it's the President's job, alone to make decisions despite Congress's oversight or attempt t' weight in on matters. Addington has become an "invisible hand" when it comes t' executive power. Congress is an advisory panel only which can be ignored! He's been labeled a "zealot" when it comes t' keepin' power within the White house an' further, with VP Cheney. In short, he feels anythin' Pres. wants can be done by executive order without bein' overruled.
Were the above sufficient, Mr. Zuckerman states snoopin' on Americans is a valuable tool to fight terrorism, as long as they're "disclosed." Refer to previous paragraph t' find disclosure isn't a guaranteed thing under "signing statement" rules.
Many conservatives ain't gonna like this, but supportin' the above with knowledge of Goebbells' success with the Germans, is 'bout the same. Granted, terrorism is a new kind of war. But, here's where people should part company with Republicrats. Refer to Cardinal Richeleiu's comment that he could hang an honest man usin' six sentences? It's within reason once any call is monitored, dependin' upon whom it was, could be jailed an' held as a "terrorist combatant" without legal recourse. They say no, but, too many people were wrongly convicted bein' released through DNA results.
Read US News 5/29 issue. It'll scare the pants off a common man. We're at the mercy of ambitious bureaucrats intent on rewritin' our constitution. Question after readin' this issue, are we on the road t' dictatorship? Appears so. Liberty's lost gradually, it's threatened. Nuff sed?
