Time out:
Never has there been so much stupidity among leaders an' Mediasts as past week. Here's why: Congressman Foley has a problem. So do a lotta other people, operatin' in closets of life, away from the public view. Many people in high places have ways unknown to the common people, even though whispers make the rounds. What people hide in the closets is their personal business; usin' their influence and positions t' harm people is another.
Meanwhile, Amish in Pa. have suffered a modern day tragedy. What Media seems unable to understand is compassion of Amish toward the fambly of the shooter. Accordin' t' reporters, at least. There's times cameras an' microphones would be better still druther'n invadin' personal privacies of victims.
News reports state a protest group from Kansas will invade privacy of famblies, question is why? Where does it say personal tragedies are public events must be publicized for some stupid reason? Hopefully, at the time this is bein' printed, Kansas group'll be met at the state line, tol' t' butt out. There's times, an' then there's times. This ain't one.
Foley thing: parents of page notified proper people an' din't want, justifiably, their child or fambly raked over Media's coals. Congress leaders chose t' bury, like other groups, t' "deal" with the problem themselves. Which means a winky-wink an' business as usual. Now they're demandin' page program be abolished. Turns out most pages knew who they could trust, an' who to avoid. There's much maturity in young minds quite beyond adult thinkin'. So Congressional leaders want to throw the baby out with their inappropriate attempt t' clean bath water they, not the pages, dirtied? Only good thing outta this is Foley used words, not actions to satisfy whatever aberrations needed.
Power, as been demonstrated in public lately is a dangerous thing when influences are used t' promote something. Notice non-specific thing. Legislative bills have "entitlements" items, power used t' git them inta bills. Foley, even under a cloud, still has power an' money t' influence things. This isn't a party line thing. What will be final result t' Foley, or will it be like radio Media's plea bargain which would've put commoners behind bars for decades. Power has the ability t' do many things, as this incident is showin'.
Never, however, is power more illustrated than two books mistakenly bought at full price. They are Frank Rich's "Greatest Story Ever Sold" an' Woodward's "State of Denial". These written words nothin' ain't been known afore! Common people know there's little they can do t' influence politicians, with all the corporate money bein' thrown in their lap. Would say more, but politicians don't listen, nor respond except with professionally worded printouts they're incapable of doin' themselves.
Power an' Media's stupidity shown in Iraq by their refusal t' acknowledge Saddam's regime studied Viet War. Neither books state that common knowledge. Not nuff sed, stupidity an' power prevail! Not nuff sed.
